2003 – the year of the three-peat for the triumphant Brisbane Lions. The year the Lions overcame injuries to star players, a drop in form late in the year and a torrid finals campaign over four weeks to write their part in AFL history. For the third year in a row Leigh Matthews and Michael Voss provided the leadership on and off the field and with a star studded team proved again to be the best in the business. A finals campaign that started with a loss to Collingwood, gathered momentum with a semi final win over Adelaide and a preliminary final victory over Sydney. This is the 2003 AFL Grand Final in full. One of the great moments as the Brisbane Lions became the first team since Melbourne, 45 years ago, to win a hat trick of premierships. 2003 – the year of the history making Brisbane Lions.
