1TB WD Blue HDD reviews

We all know that Western Digital these days are more reliable than Seagate, I've read that this drive is noisy which isn't true, it makes less of that crackling noise than any others unless pushed to its extreme and even then with my side case off its far less noisy than my Barracuda.

If you are looking for a new HDD don't look any further than Western Digital.

Just what you need to begin with, or for a budget build. Relatively quiet, decent capacity, decent price.

All the space I need, but you can really hear it when it's working

Fast drive and cheap, no problems with speed. Does get a little loud in an open case although but can only hear it when you are trying to.

A large storage space at a cheap price with (what seems) comparable speeds to that of a SSD

I have three of these in Raid 5. & can barely hear them when they are running.

I installed this into my computer and the first thing my wife said was " thats quiet, you can put the cover back on now." Well done Mighty Ape. A great product and price and the overnight delivery to a rural address was a nice surprise.

Great but you may need more in the future, it may be better to invest in a 2 or 3 tb hard drive

This HD works exactly how it should and for its price you cant really beat it! only thing id say is to prepare yourself for when SSD start becoming more affordable and popular (they are already really popular). SSD is much faster (instant) becuase it has no spinning disk in it meaning that it wont slow down. But as of right now you still want a HD for everything you dont need at instant access. But yeah, great buy, solid build and works as expected

Bought 3. I have an SSD for the OS, one HDD for games, one for music and audio stuff, and one for other programs. They haven't produced any annoying noise like the other reviews say. I have them screwed into the mounts from the Fractal Define R5 case, with the rubber dampeners. Best value for money. They were on my doorstep the next morning. Very happy

This drive is very basic and easy to set up. I was able to move the data from my older (smaller HDD) to this one without any hassle and installed it quickly. It worked from day dot and hasn't given me any sort of problem. Another AWESOME drive from Western Digital!
