"new 2 xbox xmas 2005"
4 stars"

I've never played a game on a console of any type ever. I'm an old fan of rpgs though, this xmas I was given an xbox. Along with kotor2 and a day later kotor. All I have to say is once I picked up the controller and began to play I couldn't stop. In the last week and a bit I have finished kotor2 and then kotor and just today, while I write this, I just ended round two with kotor2. I guess I have a knack for rpgs. I don't know what people want for there money these days but kotor2 is a great piece of interactive entertainment. I two felt it was a little rushed but if you're a fan of kotor wanting more it is certainly better than nothing to go on with… get it! for a few dollars (barely a few drinks out these days) you get to own a piece of history… I say, c'mon kotor3! ;)

Well, it's not much chop compared to the original. The few new game enhancements (like gaining influence over your party members, new force powers, weapon upgrades etc.) don't really make up for what made the old KOTR so great: story.

Where the origional had a plot-line that was involving and full of surprises, the new version is predictable and, to be quite honest, rather dull. Worst of all, the plot sprints through the final stages, leaving you (well, me at any rate) feeling somewhat dissapointed at the anti-climatic ending.

It certainly ends with a hiss ..... but still waiting for the roar.

Game play is still pretty much the same as the original (quite a bit easier actually). Graphics and sound still at the high level as the first (you'll recognise the same models no less), although I found it crashed my xbox a few times, and had a propensity for dropping frames quite often and for no real obvious reason.

In summary: I feel a little gipped. Y'now, it was a good time, the feel of the films is captured nicely, great little movies and atmosphere, but at the end of the day the game feels like it was rushed. Like they ran out of ideas at the end, or just wanted to get the thing into development as quickly as possible, and what suffered was the story, perhaps the most important element in any RPG.
