Author Biography:

John Hagerman loves Christmas and has made it his mission in life to keep the spirit of Santa alive for "kids" from 1 to 92. One of his earliest, and favorite memories, is sitting at the top of the stairs on Christmas morning waiting with his brothers to go downstairs and see the Christmas tree and gifts. When their mom finally said it was okay, they would go downstairs where they would be overwhelmed by the sparkling lights of the tree, stacks of carefully arranged packages, and overflowing stockings. He loved the anticipation and he loved the feeling of being swept up in something truly magical. As an adult, John learned his mother's secrets to making Christmas special, even though she had little money to spend, and three sons to raise on her own. Her example inspired his mission to help people discover fresh ways to keep the hope, joy of Christmas, and the magic of Santa, living, and vibrant for everyone. It's also what motivated him to write 101 Ways to Keep the Spirit of Santa Alive (For "Kids" from 1 to 92.) John grew up in St. Louis Park MN, a suburb of Minneapolis, and now lives in Minnetonka with his 12 and 9-year-old children and wife Jan. With a bachelor's in creative writing from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, and a master's in screenwriting from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, writing continues to be a focus for John. Besides 101 Ways to Keep the Spirit of Santa Alive, John is also marketing a script for a very unique Christmas movie. He can think of no better story to tell, or work to pursue, than encouraging people to live the joy of the holidays year round. When John is not writing, volunteering in the community, helping his kids with music, sports, scouting, and fishing, or being a ski instructor with his wife and kids, he's busy helping his business coaching and consulting clients. In addition, John speaks to business and organizations about how to maximize human potential, or about his favorite topic, Santa, and how the lessons Santa teaches can be valuable in growing people and companies.
