What is Eat Me Supplements AAKG (Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate)?
L-Arginine is a conditionally essential amino acid that stimulates the body to produce nitric oxide, a molecule important to overall health as it allows blood, nutrients and oxygen to travel to every part of the body effectively and efficiently. Insufficient production of nitric oxide is associated with heart disease, diabetes and erectile dysfunction.
L-arginine alpha ketoglutarate (AAKG) combines a salt of L-arginine with alpha ketoglutarate acid. This version is more efficient, and bodybuilders often prefer this type of L-arginine supplement to enhance their performance.
Who is Eat Me Supplements AAKG for?
Here are some groups of people who may benefit from AAKG:
Athletes or bodybuilders? AAKG may improve oxygen and blood flow to the muscles. Athletes may also consider taking Citrulline.
Blood pressure or diabetes? Nitric oxide plays an important role in blood pressure and blood sugar regulation.
Surgery or trauma? Arginine becomes essential during critical illness, surgery or trauma.
Erectile dysfunction? Studies show AAKG to be of significant benefit in cases of erectile dysfunction.
Suggested Use
Best taken on an empty stomach. Dissolve 1 teaspoon (one 3g serve) in 150ml of cold water and drink immediately. Use up to three serves daily, spaced evenly throughout the day.
For best muscle building results, use with Eat Me 100% Whey Protein, Creatine and Beta Alanine.
DIY pre-workout combo
AAKG, Citrulline, Creatine and Beta Alanine work together to increase lean body mass and reduce body fat by increasing training intensity and volume. Add caffeine and these five ingredients are the backbone of almost every successful pre-workout supplement.
Add one serve of Beta Alanine, Citrulline Malate, Creatine and AAKG to 250ml of cold water and consume with one Thermo Caffeine capsule 30– 45 minutes before exercise.
Side Effects and Warnings
Overall, research has shown that L-arginine is safe when taken as a dietary supplement, even when taken daily over long periods.
Larger doses of 9 grams or more per day may cause unpleasant side effects, including bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea.
AAKG is not recommended for those with asthma, cirrhosis of the liver, kidney disease, low blood pressure, and guanidinoacetate methyltransferase deficiency.
