2018 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults

The finalists of the 2018 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults have been announced.

The awards celebrate the best books for young readers and titles are judged in six main categories. Picture Book, Junior Fiction, Young Adult Fiction, Non-Fiction, Illustration and te reo Māori. The winners of those categories will all compete to be named the Margaret Mahy Book of the Year. The judges will also present a Best First Book award to a previously unpublished author or illustrator from a shortlist of five titles.

To celebrate the finalists in the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults we’re giving away a bumper prize pack containing all the finalist titles to one lucky winner. That’s 28 brand spanking new books to add to your shelf!

To enter simply purchase one of the finalist titles and you’re automatically in the draw to win.

The prize pack includes a copy of each of the finalists and is worth over $600!

The winners of the 2018 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults will be announced at a ceremony in the atmospheric Te Marae at Te Papa in Wellington on the evening of Wednesday 8 August.
