Adult Colouring Q&A: Rhiannon Shasta Wood

By Che

We have picked out a few colourers who submitted entries to our Adult Colouring Competition for a brief Q&A about colouring and their entry.

We've spoken to winner Kimberley Rutgers and Darcy Turner. Today we speak to Rhiannon Shasta Wood who submitted this cute entry!

How long have you been doing adult colouring?
I don't think I ever made the transition from child to adult colouring as I have been colouring and drawing since I could hold a pencil. Wasn't until the past few months when adult colouring became huge that I bought colouring-in books that were intricate and challenging.

Do you have any art background?
Yes, I am quite a creative person. Really got into art painting and drawing at school and carried it on into my mid twenties before I got into sewing. Now I colour other peoples art and get a lot of joy from it!

Which book is this piece from?
This ones from Doodle Invasion by Kerby Rosanes (bought from Mighty Ape). I also have Enchanted Forest and Secret Garden from Johanna Basford.

How long did it take?
Perhaps a couple of hours? Wasn't done in one sitting.

What pens or pencils did you use?
Prismacolour and Faber Castell colouring pencils.

Any tips or techniques?
Just lots of layers of colour light to dark. Serious smooth blending.

What's your favourite adult colouring book?
Definitely Doodle Invasion, it's more my style. Kerby is a genius. Have been following him on Facebook and Instagram for ages.

Anything else you'd like to share with fellow colourers?
Never give up no matter what anyone says. It's food for the soul.

Thanks for taking the time to share with us Rhiannon.
