We had a chat to Kimberley Rutgers about her incredible entry!

How long have you been doing adult colouring?
Since my mum brought me a colouring book for my holiday in June this year for our trip to Rotorua. She made me a pack with the colouring book pencils and chocolate :) lets just say it's the best gift I've ever received! Thanks mum!

Do you have an art background?
I've always had a love for anything artistic. I did a lot of art in high school and did some in university as well with a graphics base. I love being creative it's one of my main outlets that make me happy and it's a big passion of mine.

Which book is this piece from?
This piece is from Millie Marotta's Animal Kingdom.

How long did it take?
This took about a week and I worked on it every night for about four hours at a time :)

What pens or pencils did you use?
I used faber castells and that's it.

Any tips or techniques?
Build colour on top of colour, challenge yourself , explore different colour combos that you've never done before and have fun with it.

What's your favourite adult colouring book?
Animorphia by Kerby Rosanes I love a little bit of a challenge and details.

Anything else you'd like to share with fellow colourers?
Create something that you love and that you enjoy. Who cares what anyone else thinks as long as you look at it and you smile because you are proud of it, that is all that should matter.

Thanks for taking the time to share with us Kimberley.
