Tritton AX180 Universal Gaming Headset (PC, PS3, X360) reviews

These fit very comfortably even around my large ears, though if you have huge ears then the pads may sit on them. The removable mic is great, allowing me to take it out when not using it and it's very clear. Sound quality is good for this price range also. Very long cord allowing you to sit further back and the console support is very nice, allowing me to use these as my universal headphones. I did have to purchase a HDMI RCA connector for my xbox to use game sound because I use HDMI, however the voice chat works perfectly without the adaptor.

Overall a great buy and I recommend these for anyone looking to invest in a quality gaming headset!

This headset is is perfect for any first person shooter gamer. This headset picks up and enhances many different sounds, for example, in Call of duty games you can here the enemy players characters talking and there footsteps much clearer than you would just through your t.v.

It is very comfortable headset but i find after 2 hours of continuous use they do get really hot which can get irritating.

I am a big fan of all the tritton headsets and I have no problems with this headset. I would recommend this headset to anyone who wants to improve there online gaming experience.

They are excellent and have great sound quality and comfort, they have a long cord to sit back with, they are all over excellent in every way. I highly recommend them to anyone. I wear mine for hours on end and have no discomfort at all.

Maybe mine was defective, but no matter what USB plug I used, any sound had huge amounts of white noise and squeaks in the background.

When I first bought this headset I thought it was a great buy
until 2 weeks ago when the mic stopped working

Mic feels weak and stops working pretty easily
felt heavy

Had these for almost a year and I must say that the sound quality is good. The only let down is that the mic disconnects if you move it around too much.

I bought this headset for gaming across all three supported platforms, and I was amazed at how clear the sound was, give or take a little bit of white noise that could be adjusted out by the volume control, and I lavished the mic's quality, until about a month later. The detachable mic broke down, and would only work in one place then stopped working altogether, which was extremely disappointing. I returned it to Mighty Ape to be repaired, which took about 3 weeks as it had to be returned to manufacturer, for it to come back, working. But again, the mic stopped working about 3 weeks later. I'm quite disappointed with this, it was quite a letdown. I would buy them if I wanted exceptional headphones, without a mic, though perhaps for a little less dough. 9/10 speakers 3/10 microphone 5/10 overall. Not too happy with Tritton for that..

Had for about 3 months then broke down both me and my friends I bought my a few weeks later now its around 5 months later and I regret wasting my money for 3 months of usefulness. Both of ours had the same problem, sound and everything is fine but nobody can hear us, skype or game. I've figured out recently that when you fiddle round with the detachable microphone eventually at one single point it works then soon afterwards the slightest tap sends it back to full mute mode. So therefore a great product with the durability of 0.5/10. ( I had not dropped it or anything, FYI)

This headset was simple and easy to set up on my 360 and I was able to wear it for hours on end without me knowing it was even on due to its light, yet durable design but one issue I had was after a month or so the mic the wouldn't pick up my voice which was very frustrating on XBL.The sound was good when playing halo: reach the guns sounded great and the grenades had a lot of punch, but the headset couldn't pick up lighter noises that well, like footsteps and reloads. But over all decent. Apart from the mic this is a good headset for players wanting to get a bit more serious with their gaming.

A good headset, but several drawbacks. I use it for PC gaming, and the sound is clear, the mic is good and the earpieces are comfortable. When it works, it is a great headset.

On the downside, there is constant low level background white noise, the detachable mic can come loose on it's own and the headsets break easily. Quality seems a little hit-and-miss

The only flaw that stands with this headset is the incessant sound of static when no sound is being played, given how overpowering it is. That issue aside, it has great sound when it is being used and the only thing stopping it from getting 5 stars is that the volume control hub is inconvenient and always has to be maxed out to get good quality sound.

I have been told by end listeners that the sound on the mic is excellent and definitely worthy of being labelled as a commentator's pi­ece.

In the end, a great item for it's price range but for an extra $50 you could go for virtual surround sound on the low end of that spectrum if you shop around.

EDIT: The mic is now broken after 6 months of careful use. As far as I can deduce, the flexibility of the mic and it's ability to be disconnected and reconnected resulted in an electrical failure, meaning the mic is worthless, the headphones on their own are also worthless because of the static and now they are simply a pair of expensive earmuffs.

This headset is purely awesome much better than my old turtle beaches way higher sound quality recommended to all gamers that cant afford tritton ax720's

Very good quality headset, there are better headsets; but for the price this headset is worth it.

I love these little beasts. Perfect for any game, especially first person shooters. Although they may not be digital surround sound like it's more expensive competitors, the sound quality is still fantastic as well as the sound and quality of the microphone headset. These are really comfy and can be used for long period's of gaming.

Have played for a long time now with just the tv speakers. Being a more than casual gamer I enjoy my games but wasn't too worried about the sound. However, after a friend convinced me to get one to converse while playing first person shooters, I was blown away by the quality of sound and the ability to chat with friends, and politely reprimand the children that make annoying sounds with their high voices. The removable mike is great if I want to use them with my PC for music. I know it is not at the top end in headsets but it is tenfold better than listening through external speakers.
