3 stars "Overrated, but has its moments.."

Ok, so it's a little addictive…

However the combat control is clunky and seems unresponsive. You don't really know if you are controlling the action or if it's just doing its own thing. It brings a new dimension to button mashing: stick mashing – except you actually know when you have triggered something with a button press! Oh, and you can't heal whenever you like as with other RPGs – you have to wait for a health drop.

It can get quite difficult when taking on an abundance of creatures 10 levels above you – but if you utilise the various abilities you have, there are opportunities to escape, but I have died a number of times to larger creatures that i can't ever seem to get away from because I am far too slow. You can dodge, but the hitboxes on enemies and the level terrain are huge, and you often find yourself stuck on some-one/thing which interrupts the move and leads to a rather non-next generation character animation twitch.

The armour designs are awesome, but the creatures are just variations on the same few base models. The customisation is a great element but there are ridiculous amounts of item drops and you have to pause the game to check them out (which is quite slow to do!)

The story looks like it will unfold to be quite interesting, but I don't know if I am prepared to wait until the end of the trilogy to get it – it is unwrapping a little slowly!

Once I work out all the little features, I am sure it will meat at least a few more of my expectations. But at this stage I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

3 stars "Great game but controls killed it"

I personally thought the game was awsome, the story line was good and was a decent length aswell. But what kills it is the controlls they tried someting new and screwed it up. Basically you use the right stick to attack which makes it nearly impossoible to look around in combat which can get very frustrating.

4 stars "Great price, game, gameplay"

Saw this on sale had to pick it up, gameplay reminded me of god of war for some reason just how he moved the sword not sure why. Although I haven't finished the game yet, i've enjoyed it so much.

3 stars "A decent RPG."

Based on the demo, I wouldn't buy this game. However, the levelling system is similar to that of World of Warcraft where you get talents that make your character a more powerful one. The control scheme is simple and easy to use, the game is definately a solid RPG, the graphics are pretty nice and some of the special attacks are awesome visually. I am definately going to rent the full version of the game as it is promising. Just to be sure, download the demo before you make the purchase.

3 stars "great way to kill time"

i did not like it at first but after awhile i got into it i enjoyed all the cool weapons and outfits you can get.

the gameplay could of been better in the fighting i found it to be hard to aim some times on the target you wanted to get. and they could of made the controls a bit better but i was not used to them but now i am.

i found the game to be short it only took me 10hrs to finish i was hoping to play it alot longer than that.
but all in all i enjoyed playing the game was fun and you can really get into it and its a game you can play over and over and its a great time waster and i am not sorry i brought it.

4 stars "Mass effect meets God of war"

I was on the fence about this game for quite some time and in fact the first time I heard about it they were suing the unreal engine makers because they were spending too much time helping cliffy b on gears of war.
But after getting over the negative associated buzz around this game it started looking more and more interesting, playing as a cybernetically enhanced norse god in diablo style dungeon crawling.
After playing the demo it has swayed me from “meh” to “pre order immediately!”
The fixed camera almost psychically follows your intended movement, if it gets a bit lost you can hit recenter or zoom out to another camera style, this seems to be peoples main complaint, where were all these complaints with Skate's thumbstick tricks and fixed camera? Oh right that was “innovative”.
If you want to wait a couple years for diablo 3 on pc to come out for the perfect experience (although people are already deriding its colorful happy graphics.) then best you wait.
But if you want embark on a mash up of what seems like Mass effect meets God of war then this one is well worth it.

4 stars "Gonna be good..."

Microsoft finally confirmed this games release date at the 28th August for Europe. One of the reasons I love MS is it also loves NZ, and doesn't make us wait months for certain games… I'm looking at you, Brawl…
