Splinter cell conviction is the best splinter cell in the series so far. Gone are the days of looking at the mission menu every 5 minutes to see what to do. Splinter cell conviction has the mission reminders appear on the game itself.
The game is challenging at times, and I had to learn the skill of stealth. Without stealth you will get no where. The action is one of the best I have seen in a fps.
5 out of 5
Only bad thing, sam fisher cannot jump…most people on earth can
This games is a must have! After playing the demo recently i was completely WOWED! By the graphics, gameplay and just everything about it.. After playing the previous Splinter Cell releast on Xbox 360, Double Agent, and finding that extremely brilliant, I knew the long awaited arrival for this would be truly oustanding! I was right! I can't wait for this to come out!
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction is my favorite stealth game. It has a fun campaign although it seems a bit short. Emersive environments and good combat. One of my favorite things about this game apart from the stealth is the weapon upgrade system. There are three upgrades to each weapon which can change their use immensely. Co-op campaign differs from single player and is ALOT of fun playing with friends. The special-ops mode is very fun and can be challenging at times. Heaps of action and shooting. Overall I give this great game 5-Stars and at a good price (~$30), why not buy now-
Awesome game with a lot of play-ability. Co-op, online, single player. So much fun. Would recommend to anyone.
BEST STEALTH GAME EVER TO HIT THE SHELVES!!
Sam fisher is back, and badder than ever in the new splinter cell game.
In what other game could you break a urinal with a bad guy's face?
In what other game can you slink around in the shadows picking off bad guys one by one until theres none left.
In other words- what other game is as awesome and intense as SPLINTER CELL CONVICTION?
I for one loved the first 3 games in the Splinter Cell series. They were
not just “run around shoot everything, gung ho” types. The stealth was
great.
The last one (Double Agent) was a lot different, and I just didn't really get
into it. I was also hoping for more multiplayer (they had a few levels in Chaos
Theory) to do some coop gaming.
Now Conviction – gameplay is much better. Mixture of stealth and shooter. Great range of weapons and gadgets. Only thing I'd say bad about the single player – too short. Even on Realistic, finished it quickly.
Co-op – Great to see some co-op back in. Has both some storymode and some other types to play around with. Hope the next one has even more.
So if you were thinking of not getting this one due to the last one – think again. Good story, good game play. Must have!
Fast action stealth game done right. Hide in shadow, show last position seen and get to run up and do a close kill is awesome. Also enjoyed a range of weapons and story. Very polish and Fun game. Highly recommend this! ; D. One of the best game I have played. 10/10.
I have played the all the games from this series, but this one was way better than the last and would be one of the best from the collection. It really is under rated, I am keeping mine for a replay – that's how good this one is.
This game has a great story line it was a little short but all the side games make up for that plus it has online MP
felt like a proper secret agent with good killing moves and super stealth missions. I havent really played many of the other games in the series so I had a lot of catch up to do but it was still fun and the split screen multiplayer is a lot of fun!
I originally won this game in a competition with the plan of playing it a couple of times and then on selling it, but after an hour of playing the campaign I was hooked. My copy of the game was stolen and I enjoyed this game so much I went and bought it again. Well worth playing if you are interested in third person shooters at all!
Splinter Cell is THE stealth game. This game does have it's downsides (eg it's sometimes ambiguous hidden state, and the “ping” feature lacks a little) but this is a great game. A fantastic story feels personal and “pulled up” as Sam figures the latest conspiracy, this time all about him.
Coop is fantastic and I still don't trust my girlfriend around fridge doors. A must have game for any gritty-action or stealth fan.
i've played a few splintercell games now but the only one i enjoyed and finished was the orignal.
i found this one to be a bit of a let down since the game no longer lets you play it 3 different ways (complete stealth, stealth assasination, or out in the open guns raging)
I felt this game was too artsy-fartsy as your game will turn black and white when Sam Fisher (the spy) is in shadows, after generations of computer graphics i did not want to go back to playing games in black and white.
got bored after 2 hours.
This is the best shooter in the splinter cell series .. Have clocked it more that 3 times now .. And it still pulls me back for more .. Just love this game ..
I highly recomend this game to anyone thinking of buying it espesially if you have a friend that you can play with over xbox live, and i love the hole being able to remain undetecded and just pop the enemys off one at a time
Worth every dollar.
Not only does Conviction come with an epic single player story there is also a co-op story mode that leads up to the events in single player. This coupled with Hunter mode (think Terrorist Hunt on Rainbow Six: Vegas), leaves you with hours of fun at a ridiculously low price.
Can not wait for the next installment in the Splinter Cell series.
Tom Clancy and Ubisoft have done it again.
If you love stealth game, you'll LOVE this game, everything about this game is awesome. The best thing about this game is the gameplay itself. It has the most fluid and realistic moves and features. If you thrive on eliminating bad guys without being detected this is the game for you.
Having played and enjoyed the older versions of Splinter Cell, I expected great things from a “new age” addition to the franchise. Whilst the game is playable (and at times really enjoyable), it ends up feeling like a solid game that will end up being soon forgotten. I haven't read much in the way of reviews, but would imagine it was rated about 7/10 by whatever gaming site you prefer. In terms of service from MA – couldn't have asked for more effecient or faster delivery ,thanks guys!
Great game play best fps Iv'e played in a long time, and great co-op well worth it!
Gezz Sam how many times can a guy escape death- To be honest I bought this game strictly for the beta for Ghost Recon Future Soldier, but when I started playing I found I really enjoyed it…New ways to get round the levels and some pretty awesome execution and hand to hand kills made it rather enjoyable…I would suggest hiring the game first as always, but think it's well worth owning for when you just want to do something different.
A good game overall
Quite a few things have changed however, u no longer have night vision instead
you can just see in the dark.
I thought this was the only real weird part in the game, otherwise the story is
still immersive and really controversial making u that much more engrossed in
it.
Outside the campaign it also offers challenge maps and co-op modes which are fun
for hardcore fans of the series.
Definitely recommend if you are a splinter cell series fan
The split screen co-op makes this game a must have always nice to have a 2 player game around. The single player story and game play is also great and nothing beats shoving someones face onto a stove.
2 different story lines – Single player & Co-Op! What more do you want-
Both story lines are nerve wrecking, as you have a combination of stealth play and rambo play. So if you feel a little trigger happy, then this might still be a game for you.
Overall gameplay – 5/5 for addiction
This is quite an awesome game and probably the best of Splinter Cell games. Even at Realistic difficult the game isn't too difficult (like the controller-throwing type) which is good.
And, of course, the $25 deal from Mighty Ape makes it a steal!
I have played splinter cell hours upon hours and still am not bored. this
game is great fun and has incredibly good online.
I recommend this game whos into detailed campaigns, Epic action and intense
gameplay!!!
Good return to form for Sam. Game is enjoyable from start to finish, not
perfect as the gam is way too action orientated for a stealth game and contains
way too many frustrating parts.
Fun game though, good change from normal shooters.
Splinter Cell is a slick, fast paced game that never misses a beat. With twists and turns, it's easily capable to feed the gamer in all of us, but is also easy to grasp and play unlike some other games of the time.
I recently completed Splinter Cell: Conviction's campaign on the hardest ‘realistic’ difficulty setting and have some things to say. As gaming websites like IGN have pointed out, the stealth in Splinter Cell is what has set this franchise apart and the target + execute with Y button in Conviction is a really nice easy feature of the game.
The problem the game runs into is you find yourself in the typical third-person-shooter take cover and shoot. The classics in the series are definitely Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory on PS2 and Xbox, and in those the focus on stealth is what Splinter Cell is about, doing kills from the ceiling, not getting spotted whatsoever or trying to prevent being seen! This isn't Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six!
Although I thoroughly enjoyed the game single-player and will continue to play the other modes, I would say this game was easy to get into compared to Double Agent, though I can't help but think of the game as a third-person-shooter first and stealth second. The first 3 Splinter Cell games didn't feel like that.
My favourite quote from Sam Fisher is when he returns to his former workplace and says to the receptionist “…Fisher… I use to work here” then subsequently denotes an EMP. Epic.
I won't lie to you, SC: Conviction has its downsides such as poor character
development and a lack of weapon attachments. However, this is the best Splinter
Cell so far simply because it's more accessible. You want full-on action? You
can do it in this game because of the revamped combat system. You want stealth?
Definetly, and the aforementioned combat system makes sneak kills more
satisfying. The graphics of this game are top-notch; everything looks so smooth
and the Iraq level I must say look gritty and real, reminding me of the movie
‘Jarhead’ with the smoke, blackened skies and whatnot (one of my favorite
levels).
If you hated other SC games because its focus on stealth annoyed you, give this
game a go. If my calculations are correct, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.
I got this game off Mighty Ape's daily deals for less than 1/4 of the RRP!
Keep it up Mighty Ape!
Story line is awesome and the graphics is one of the best 360 graphics
out,
If you're into shooting/action games you'll love this one.
i found this game harder then the rest but i got pretty bored with it after awhile(im not a big splinter cell fan) but if you loved the previous splinter cell you wont be disapointed i recomend this game to all you splinter cell fans but if you are new to these type of games i recomend you hire one of the splinter cell games to see if you like it
This is a really good action packed game that I am thoroughly enjoying. Best of the splinter cell series so far. I would definitely recommend this game to others. It also has a good twist to it.
New elements brings even more variety to such an intense game. Many hours of gaming to be had on Xbox Live
Greatest splinter cell game of all time, took awhile to make with postponing and everything but was really worth the wait, unless ypou die there is no loading screen because its always a cutscene showing more plot, the cover system is fabulous and the ai's have a mind of their own and dont dont just walk in circles all the time, short but action packed.
Really enjoyed Conviction, fast paced stealth from start to finish. Conviction is a must have for stealth and action fans. Co Op is a great new addition as well.
I may be in the minority, but Double Agent just felt so different from the previous Splinter Cell games, it may as well have been a different game. It also wasn't… Great.
But all that's changed. With Conviction, it feels just like Splinter Cell again, and the lush graphic effects and gameplay features really add depth to the game. You can use sonar goggles to spot enemies through walls, and mark them with the new Mark & Execute feature. After you've marked your targets, you can press Y and perform some professional slowmo headshots.
Or if you prefer a more stealthy approach, you can hang from walls and grab enemies through windows, taking out lights then taking down an enemy from behind with a melee attack, which also refills your marks. It isn't particularly difficult to master, but it really provides a breath of fresh air to the series.
Co-op is also a rather grand affair, split screen or xbox live, grab a friend or family member and take on the co-op campaign, with a nice little twist at the end. Co-op is nice and fluid with no framerate issues. Just make sure to teach your partner what “stealth” means. Play on realistic to get the best experience.
Overall a very worthy addition to the series and the most polished Splinter Cell yet. A very worthy buy for stealth fans, or anyone really. If you are undecided, check out the demo on Xbox LIVE.
The variety of game modes provide a great gameplay experience, and expands on the excitement generated by previous Splinter Cell titles. In particular, the new online gameplay options enhance the experience and allow the player to feel truly immersed in the world of Sam Fisher. Whether you're buying it to take your first step into this genre, or as a continuation to previous Splinter Cell experiences, you won't be disappointed!
This is a cool game I have got the first one of it I think the price needs to go down.
Ok so ive read the reviews and everthing but still I have 1 question. Is it FREE ROAMING and I dont care if its not like fallout 3 freeroaming but if you do have the ability to “roam” around well then thats a must buy for me.
Enjoyed this awesome title. Was largely impressed with the AI found among the enemies. Making replay ability of the game enjoyable and a new challenge every time. With a completely different co-op story to single player it made enjoying this game with friends fantastic for all parties.
This is one hell of a game i cant put it down. The gameplay is fast and the story is amazing i never thought Sam Fisher could become so wild. It is a must have for stealth/action and shooter fans.
I was a bit apprehensive when I heard about the changes to this new Splinter Cell, but after putting some hours in, I can say Ubisoft have changed Sam from a 100% sneaky agent to a sneaky agent who can go toe to toe with the best if required. It has certainly been mainstreamed so the hardcore Splinter Cell player may at first feel ripped off, but that will pass, I promise. A solid game even though the Campaign is a bit on the short side.
The game has been changed quite a bit judging from the demo, its now less of a stealth game than a sneaky shoot 'em up. You still get to sneak around and climb on stuff, but you can no longer hide bodies. The demo shows that the games still fun to play, but will be less appealing to those who like to sneak through the levels without being seen at all.
Looks fantastic, I can't believe how good this game looks. All the other Splinter cell games have been SOOOOOOOOO good! This one looks even better!!! Yeah! Can't wait for this game! Tom Clancy's Splinter cell is gonna keep me up 24/7 until I finish it! Looks fantastic. Sweet as Guys. EXCELLENT!
I have played all of the Splinter Cell games but this one just looks amazing! The gameplay looks so fun and realistic. I also love what they have done to the CPU's in making then so realistic! It looks like it has Hours of gameplay that will keep changing everytime you play!!!! 5/5 EXCELLENT
