Description

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is a tactical shooter in the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon franchise which drops players in the middle of a covert operations throughout Europe against fictional ultranationalist groups. In this hot war players must use both individual skills with weaponry large and small, as well as be able to work with their fellow squad members to complete mission-based objectives. Additional features include: optical camouflage, making players virtually invisible, new support options via heavily armed ground and air combat drones and single player campaign, co-op and multiplayer play options.

Experience the Future of War
In the escalating political climate of the near future—where strategies on the battlefield must be delicately balanced with maneuvers at the negotiating table—a new breed of soldier has arisen. Trained to be better than the best and outfitted with the most comprehensive array of high-tech gear ever assembled, the future soldier stands apart by his ability to remain undetected. He slips unseen behind enemy lines. He uses the perfect combination of diplomacy and force to achieve his objectives while remaining politically invisible. He is a Ghost. As a member of the elite Ghost Recon, you are among the few who possess the power, the adaptability, and the cognitive fortitude of the future soldier. Specialized in every area of combat, equipped for survival, and trained in absolute discretion, you are entrusted with the missions no other soldier can handle. Armed to the teeth with an arsenal of real-world high-tech weaponry only in prototype today, you are an F-16 on legs, trained to lock on to your objective even in the world's most complex, high-risk war zones.

Natural Cooperation

These include the ability to instantly and effectively coordinate combat against 360° threats as you linkup with your Ghost teammates in a formidable formation at the push of a button; the ability to move-and-shoot-as-one with your friends or AI teammates with no training and no complex orders system; and to benefit from your teammates' high-tech abilities and combine them to unleash the power of an army at the pull of your trigger.

Epic Solo and Co-op Campaign
In an engrossing single player campaign join the Ghosts as Kozak, a fresh recruit whose elite unit is the U.S.‘s best and only means of retaliation when a nationalist coup unseats Russia’s legitimate president. Here you can experience multiple aspects of the war from the unique perspectives of a high-level bodyguard, an engineer, a civilian, and more. And when you are ready to team up, grab a friend and enjoy 12 hours of single, or split-screen action, in a cooperative campaign where players crisscross multiple theaters as the shadow of global conflict creeps across Northern Europe and beyond.

Fast-Paced, Addictive Multiplayer Mode
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier allows players to linkup for heated 8 vs. 8 adversarial matches. Here players can combine the four balanced class abilities, plus drones and individual gear. In addition, the game features a seamless ranking progression in Campaign, Co-op and Adversarial modes that allows for multiple rewards that can be put to use for your individual Ghost or your clan.

4 stars "No masterpiece, but enjoyable"

First off, I don't usually play shooters. Because of that I'm not going to compare it to MW3/BF3 etc.

Presentation is good but not pushing the limits of the system. The cutscenes have you looking forward to your team putting their masks back on as soon as possible. The movement looks fluid while you dash from cover to cover though.

Speaking of cover, I found the control layout simple enough to understand and the cover mechanic brilliant to use. Spot where you want to go, hold down A and watch your character haul butt as bullets ricochet around you.

The campaign felt slow to begin with but definitely picked up in the second half. I've been enjoying replaying missions to complete the various challenges and to test out other weapon options. My biggest gripe with this though is the inability to skip the in-mission cutscenes which don't change from play-through to play-through.

4 stars "Pretty good!"

From the BETA, this game is looking pretty good. Its tactical and unforgiving, but manages to be fast paced and slick, not clunky and slow like other tactical shooters.

Its a little watered down compared to older Ghost Recon games, but its a nice blend between action and tactical gameplay.

5 stars "Judging by the beta......"

Judging by the beta so far, this game is really good. I'm not entirely sure if I want to buy it for full price on release but I am enjoying it. There are few problems for me with this game.
If you have Splinter Cell: Conviction on Xbox 360 (like me) then you can download the beta by going to the game. If you have Playstation+ for PS3 you will get a free code for it too.

2 stars "Fails to Deliver"

Let me be clear: I was unable to play the multiplayer portion on this game in my short time with it, so this is a quick review of the single player.
80% of this game is fantastic. As a player you feel empowered, you feel like a badass. Weapon customization, open-ended gameplay, its all there.
But the reason I'm only giving this a 2 star rating is the last 20%. Everything you worked toward – everything you have learnt – gets mostly thrown out the window for the final few levels. The level design resorts to video game shooter tropes of old, and becomes almost unplayable. Death after death, checkpoint restarts again and again. It's seems wasteful, and yet its somewhat of an inevitability, given the big build up, a slow, methodical end game would have been somewhat underwhelming.

2 Stars.

2 stars "Doesn't Cut It..."

After playing the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier BETA… I can say one thing, its just as bad as previous games. I assume actual game & game play will be a slight step up from the BETA. But this has left me with a sour taste in my mouth about it. It sucked really bad, graphics half as good as they could of been. Controls completely out of whack. Among others… I understand this is a BETA, but I haven’t seen problems this bad in a long time. When you're creating games rivaling “Call Of Duty” or “Battlefield”, one would assume you step it up a little. Really this came in only slightly better then the previous game. All in all this is not a game I'm itching to buy.
