4 stars "It's important to make your own judgment."

If you've heard of the HD Collection, you've likely heard the waves of hatred many classic Silent Hill fans have given it for “ruining” their favourites with this “buggy mess”. I will say this now; it isn't as horrible as these fans would lead you to believe.

Perhaps I say this because I've never played the originals, so I had no lingering expectation. However, I can say that the Silent Hill HD Collection is the perfect option for those of you who, like me, missed their chance to play the originals and want to see what the fuss is all about.

I'll admit that there are more glitches than you would normally expect from a release of this time, but that does not mean that the game is unplayable. To the contrary, I hardly noticed them.

The plots of the two games, particularly Silent Hill 2, are moving and detailed, and are perhaps my favourite aspects. I would recommend it to people who are willing to give thought to a game's plot; I even used Silent Hill 2 for an essay, and it received the highest mark.

In summary, this might not be the game for you if you have strong and fond memories of the original SH2 and 3. However, if you haven't played either, then by all means, give it a spin.

5 stars "Amazing!"

I have heard alot of bad reviews of this because of the poorly done revamp of the original too but I thought I would just buy it anyway and I am definitely satisfied! Few changes in the game yes, but nothing at all to the gameplay or the story itself, an the graphics are great! If your a fan then who could turn down an offer like this!!

4 stars "Still spooky as ever"

Very good remake of a couple of classics. Too bad they didn't include Silent Hill 1 but I suppose playing these 2 games back-to-back is enough pressure to the heart.
