Description
Several years after the end of Risen, humanity is pushed to the brink of existence and one of the only safe havens is Caldera, a city located on the peninsula of the Lost Realm. However, even this sanctuary is threatened by the world at chaos, as monstrous sea monsters cause shipments of vital supplies to come to a grinding halt. The hero, upon discovering a rumor that the pirates of the Southern islands know of a way to banish the creatures of the deep, journeys to infiltrate their ranks and attempt to acquire this knowledge in time to save Caldera from imminent peril.

I gave up on this game after about twelve hours. It is just SO dull. On top of that the graphics are abysmal. They truly have to be seen to be believed. There's a beautiful engine under there but either it's been nerfed really badly for the 360 or it's just a bad port. The character animations are goofy and unlifelike. The combat is awkward and unsatisfying. Although the voice work in general is pretty good, the voice of the protagonist is dull and completely lifeless.
There is just nothing redeemable about the game. It has nice music and the monsters are pretty cool, that's about it.
I'm a big fan of Piranha Bytes early games, Gothic 1 and 2, and enjoyed Risen 1 and I really wanted to like this game despite what I'd heard about it, but I just couldn't. Even if you manage to put up with the graphics and combat the game itself is just so boring.
