Description

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City delivers a true third person team based shooter experience set within the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe and a reinterpretation of the events depicted in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. The setting of the Resident Evil universe not only provides a rich backdrop to the action but delivers a unique and thrilling triple threat battle. Zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W's) add to the mix as players not only compete against an opposing squad but also tackle this third unpredictable element, creating a brand new style of gameplay and breaking the conventions of traditional team based shooters.

It is September 1998 and the action centres once more on the ill-fated Raccoon City and the horrific consequences of the deadly T-virus outbreak from the Umbrella facility. With a cover up required, Umbrella orders an elite team into Raccoon City to destroy all evidence of the outbreak and eliminate any survivors. Hearing of this plan, the US Government dispatches its own special forces to uncover any evidence that exposes the cause of the viral infection and Umbrella's actions. Players take on the role of an Umbrella Security Services soldier (U.S.S.), competing alone or in four player co-op in a battle against all the competing forces at play in Raccoon City.

Expect the return of original Resident Evil enemies, iconic landmarks such as the Raccoon City Police Department and fan favourite characters, including Leon S. Kennedy, who as a rookie police officer in Raccoon City is on your hit list to eliminate. Players will experience a retelling of classic moments from past titles Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 and watch the events unfolding from the menacing perspective of the Umbrella Security Service, giving fans the chance to rewrite the history of the Raccoon City outbreak.

In addition, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will deliver a number of competitive online multiplayer modes. Each one of these will provide a unique gaming experience thanks to the three way combat between the Umbrella Security Service, US Special Ops and threat of zombies and B.O.W's that could only exist in the deadly and twisted Resident Evil Universe.

5 stars "Don't jude before you try."

Resident Evil ORC is a tps (Third Person Shooter) delevoped by Six Slant Games and published by Capcom.

Okay just a quick note this is obviously a step away from the traditional survival horror slow paced RE"s of the past so quit complaing about how it isn't a “Real” Resident Evil game but seriously get over it sometimes change is for the best and it's not to say capcom is abandoning the survival horror elements that made the series such a success.

This game takes place during the events of the raccoon city incident aka Resident Evil 2&3's time line. And from the bone head comments i've seen from other sites saying leon can't die or others can't die this game is not cannon to the franchises storyline. It's more of a what if scenario.

This is the first time you can play as the bad guys aka the Umbrella Corporation's (umbrella security squad) and your mission it clean up the mess that the company has caused by eliminating B.O.W creatures as well as citizen's even the famous Resident Evil cast like Leon Scott Kennedy and Claire Redfield and many others. However aside from the infected creatures you'll also have to fight against the US Governments Spec Op's. Their mission is to uncover the cause of the outbreak and find evidences that points to Umbrella so it's your job to stop them.

Big changes to the series are

You can run and shoot for the first time in this 15 year old franchises history.

Playing as the Bad Guys.

>Eliminating cast members of the Resident Evil franchise and change the course of history. (As stated before the stories not cannon it's a what if story)

Six players are available to select. Co op online game play is available through x box live or psn. Main campaign is also online to.

More will be revealed later on towards it's release date.

Don't judge what you haven't played yet instead of flat out avoiding games just hire them out and try if you like it then go buy it here.

I've been a long time fan since the first one on the Play station 1. And I couldn't be more happy that a new Resident Evil game is coming out.

Definite buy for me

4 stars "Good, but its not the same 3.5/5"

I came into this game looking for the same survival horror we had in Res4.
Well i didnt find any.
This is a great game, but do not expect the same survival and frights of the previous titles, its not even an RPG in this title. Its more of a Third Person Action Shooter. This is not a bad thing because i felt it worked well, just not what I had expected/wanted.
Ive now completed the game and will play through it at least 3 more times to see how the other characters work because you have 6 (I think its 6-) characters to play as as well as unlocking abilities for each separately using earned ‘XP’
Also playing as the Umbrealla Corp is a nice change, seeing how it is to be on the other end of the story is always good
The online multiplayer is REALLY good though, throwing in s few game modes we all know and love (Team Death match and a ‘rob the nest’ type game, while bringing us a couple more like Survival (which i suggest you look it as it really is very good).
