5 stars "So good, you could actually taste it."

Rayman was the first game I ever played when the PS1 came out in New Zealand. The many hours I spent as a five year old entertained by a partially constructed…thing…jumping around, pulling faces, throwing my fist a thousand miles and helicoptering with my hair.

I bought Origins simply out of nostalgia, only to realise it's still a damn good game. The artwork, while more cartoony than the first, and going maving back 1D from the 3D that was introduced in the second game, makes some of the challenges offered even more brutal than the average (somewhat) childish game.

The only downside I had with this game was that the characters went back to speaking gibberish, instead of the rather good quality voice work they recieved from 2 onwards. Aside from that, the game is great for distracting the kids, and making the adults rage-quit when they fail to make that disgustingly tricky jump involving fans, vacuum-sucking pipes and hair-flying.

This is definitely for those that want to give the kids a memorable game, or spend hours playing 4-player co-op with mates and slapping each other.
