Being a casual madden nfl gamer I felt previous versions were plain frustrating. Now with Madden 09 its so much easier and able to understand. It actually suits you not the other way round.

Save your money and buy '08? you mean the '08 thats $10 more expensive, just look at the bottom of the page right below your comment lol

Anyway despite what they said each madden game so far has had significant improvement from the year before and for any NZ Nfl fan it is worth picking up as it can be especially fun playing with and against friends who are also interested in NFL

While this game looks and most of the time plays amazing, it is almost among the most frustrating and aggrevating games ive ever played! My main whinge is about the difficulty settings they have. Ive seen this written else where before but im only really starting to experience it first hand and it makes me want to throw my controller just about every 2nd play. This is about the fact that when the difficulty goes up, it doesnt make your opponent harder... it makes your team worse. Countless times ive sacked the quarterback and been pulled up for 'face-masking'. im talking a few times per game or so. Also basic things like diving for extra yards and fumbling when no-one has even touched me (once for a game winning TD). Basic drop catches in open space, no rain or snow. And these arent just on off occurances, this is happening just about every game and its completely out of your control. Its not like you can get better because its up to the game. Thats why its so frustrating because theres nothing that you can do about it, i guess you can lower the difficulty but then you end up destroying the other team and that gets old real fast.

No competition means no improvements this game is exactly the same just a few changes and then thats it! nothing much has changed!
save your money and buy 08 and change the rosters
