4 stars "Just like Star Wars Battlefront"

This game has been getting pretty poor reviews, but it's actually a really fun and entertaining game made by the same people who created the Star Wars Battlefront games. So if like me, you liked those games and their simple, yet fun and addictive gameplay, theres a good chance you will enjoy this game.

2 stars "Lame repetitive and generally bad."

If you enjoyed the epic battles of star wars battlefront 1 & 2 then you maybe in for a massive let down with this game. Lord of the rings Conquest takes place on middle earth and generally follows the story of the lord of the rings trilogy. Game-play is limited and very one sided, graphics are average at best and multi-player is weak and repetitive. So if you we waiting for this game to come out keep on waiting for star wars battlefront 3!

2 stars "Pandemic Lacks Imagination with Battlefront Clone"

In late 2005 / early 2006 our original Xbox consoles were blessed with the release of a truly epic, large scale action title; Star Wars Battlefront II. Like its predecessor, I spent hours and hours playing this little gem, exploring the strengths of each character class and trying out different tactics on an impressively diverse map environment. This game was one of a kind and stood out as one of the greater FPS titles of the time. But that was three years ago.

Here we are in 2009 and the FPS experience is a little more sophisticated now. Not only can we dispatch our enemies with a variety of weapons, but we can also have an effect on our environment by blowing up structures or destroying trees and shaping the battle the way we want to play, we can personalise our characters kit, clothing and even custom face imagery via the Xbox Live Camera and we can even upgrade our standard aresenal with add-ons, gadgets and devices to give a sense of achievement for all our hard work. All these possiblilites seem to have escaped the developers of LOTR Conquest, who have effectively taken a game that's three years old, stripped it, gave it better graphics, and put a different face on it.

If you played the Battlefront series and think you would enjoy a bit of the same ol' same ol', then think again. I can guarantee an hour into it you'll be so overwhelmed with deja vu you'll bore quite quickly. If you didn't play Battlefront II, then I suggest buying that on Xbox and playing it instead of forking out your hard earned money on what is quite basically a “re-hash to get cash” title that degrades the proud LOTR franchise so much it's almost a sin.

4 stars "EPIC Fun"

Playing as multiple different characters in the one game is really fun. It allows you to take advantage of all the classes. My brother and I played this until we got all the offline achievements, had a lot of fun as LOTR is one of my favorite series to tag along with. Definitely worth buying if cheap :D

2 stars "Did you get your hopes up!?"

I definitely got my hopes. This game definitely had the potential to be great but I found myself wanting. I can see that its trying to be a battlefront game but ends up being far to linear for one of those types of games. When i think of battlefront, i think of an wide open battle field in which you can choose which objective you wish to go for. But in this it was basically one straight line.

Although I didnt get to play online in which I think this game would be awesome. Much like Battlefield: Bad company, the single player was average but the online was really addictive.

5 stars "A fun game to play "

Im not a huge fan of lord of the rings. Have not seen any of the movies. But lord of the rings conquest is such a cool game. The instant action part of the game is the best. :)

2 stars "Use Extreme Caution"

I had my hopes up for this game, I really did, but it turned out to be a bigger let down than Starship Troopers 3 (and thats saying something). If you thought you were buying a remake of SW Battlefront 2 with a LOTR theme, better graphics and wider gameplay, think again.
LOTR conquest has one word which best describes it: small. The campaign is very short, all the maps are extremely small, there are no massive battles (thousands of orcs charging the gates of Helm's deep, that sort of thing), no profile development (upgrades, bonuses etc.), no unique uits (shock troopers etc.), very few good combat moves (you'll end up either mashing X or doing the same combo over and over), nothing as cool as the space battles (they didn't even bother to make up for it somehow) and NO SYSTEM LINK!!!
Don't get caught up in the hype with this one, its a very poor game and deserves all it's negative reveiws. Unless you are a hardcore LOTR fan, or like simplistic pointless combat, use extreme caution.

4 stars "Interesting Game!"

Did you ever play Star Wars: Battlefront? This is like it except in the Lord Of The Rings world. Controll your different units and capture points. Kill the enemy whether you are Good or Evil or maybe just a little confused of your surroundings but anyway good game I give it a 4**** star performance!
