4 stars "Decent animations but a story that needs more depth!"

It's a great game for beginners in the RPG genre. For more experienced players I would rather recommend to stay away. If you are looking for the hours and hours of RPG fun and fantastic storylines that games as Final Fantasy or Lost Odyssey provide you may want to skip on this one. However, if you are new to the genre it is a good game that is not to hard to comprehend and eases you in the RPG-style gameplay.

3 stars "Solid"

For the non-JRPG fan there is not much to recommend here. This game does not do anything to try and win you over. However for those who enjoy them by all means try out this game, its a solid entry for the genre, though certainly doesn't try to do anything new.

4 stars "M15 version of Final Fantasy"

This game was awesome! Like Final Fantasy but slightly grittier in the story line. Only wish it had been longer!

4 stars "Good game play and nice developing plot"

The game play and battle system was new to me and I thought it was great. The plot is slow at the beginning but gets way better as it goes. The dubbed voices (especially the protagonist, imo, his voice over doesn't match the character) can get annoying especially during the many battles that occur.

I love square-enix games, but this one ain't one of there best. It is decent though and does provide 20–30+ hrs of good RPG fun. I recommend this to those who loves the cliched square-enix story line and/or wants a solid RPG.

3 stars "A beutiful Brick wall"

While being a fantastic game with immersive storyline and fun gameplay, the difficulty curve in this game sometimes gets rediculous so get ready for some grinding !

4 stars "Great gameplay, boring story"

If your looking for a rpg where the main emphasis is on the battle system and gameplay than this is the game for you, the real time battle system works very well and is fun to play. as for the in depth leveling up and power ups that you find in other rpgs is simplified in this game. The story isn't one of the strong points of the game. It's mnostly just the same stuff that the back of the game say's; no big surprises or twists in the story. It's also rather short for an rpg game. Usually it would take 40 hours to clock a japanese rpg but this one can be finished at around 30 hours. Overall its a enjoyable game but not much re-playbility after you finish the story.

3 stars "Average for a SquareEnix title"

The game is still alot of fun, but lacks graphical appeal, if that is what you are looking for, this is not the SquareEnix title you would get.

There is no switching of language types for the voices, which is a shame, I was hoping to get Japanese voices over English ones, and the voice acting for the English is not very good and lips are out of sync, its still tolerable but I prefer the Japanese voices.

Different from other JRPG in that is more action, and has a unique crafting system. I wouldn't reccommend to a casual RPG player, and defiantely give it a go if you are JRPG fan or a SquareEnix one.
