Halo Reach is the last Halo game from series creator Bungie.
Well it may be their last, but it is one heck of a game.
Graphics: The graphics are very much improved over Halo 3's and features a
lot of nice textures and art work.
The Elites alone have over 8 different skins. It's important to note that the
art work overshadows Halo 3's.
Gameplay: Gameplay has evolved quite a bit from Halo CE to Halo Reach and
while Reach came before Halo CE, the game play bears quite a bit of similarity
to Halo 3 except for the addition of armour abilities. These change the game
play quite a bit (for the better) adding a layer of strategy.
The pacing is excellent and firefights are great – very chaotic.
Firefight: Firefight 2.0 as Bungie has called it is very much more fun filled out with 7 different modes compared to Halo 3 odst's one mode – overall a very good addition.
Multiplayer: This is the game mode everyone will play at least once with excellent matchmaking and widely varied maps. Plus the new armour abilities add more to the overall experience.
Campaign: The campaign is the best in the series with a very satisfying
ending and a vastly improved story that has multiple characters
(Jeorge noble 5,Kat noble 4,Emile nobel 3,Carter noble 1,Jun noble 2) and you as
your own character – noble 6. The 5 other characters provide depth and
emotional weight to the story.
Overall, Halo Reach can be played and enjoyed by Halo fans and new comers.
Review by Murray Boucher
Bungie has put all of their effort in this game and by looking at the videos it is going to be amazing. Unfortunately ODST did not live up to the hype that everybody had for it, but I can tell you this, Reach is going to be the number 1 game for a long time. With its all new multiplayer system and campaign you will find yourself loving Bungie and their new release REACH!!!!! 10/10
Halo Reach is everything a Halo fan has ever dreamed for. All that was lacking from previous Halo games is here and then some. This is Bungie's love letter to their fans and they've definitely gone out with a bang.
Played a hired copy at my mates and I would have to say that this is the best halo game since Halo 1. Heaps of new features and more weapons are really going to help make this game legendary. Great work bungie this is much better than Halo 3!
If you like Halo you will like reach .every thing is in there plus some cool
new toys.looking back at halo 3 , ODST then REACH will not dissapoint you.
I thought the grapics was good the weapons look better and there is some new
ones to be used plus special abbilities (jet pack, armour lock and a few more).
Me personaly thought this was awsome.
GO HALO REACH GO.
I have played through the game, Its a great game but there are a few things.
<< FIRST OFF, I AM NOT GIVING AWAY ANY OF THE PLOT >>
The Legendary is much harder than any of its predecessors, the main reason for this is the enhanced AI, In most places the AI will come after you if you try to camp, Especially the elites who will charge at you and try melee you (One hit in legendary will kill you)
In some places the game still feels a little scripted, but it doesn't hurt the gameplay too much.
I have to say that <<SPOILER>> I felt no emotional connection to Noble Team as the characters died off. Although When the main character finally died there was a small emotional connection. (Unlike Halo 3 where the tribute memorial made my tear ducts swell)
Overall, I think that they tied Halo: Reach (the game) well into the Halo Timeline, although I do feel that they too a little too much advantage of the timelines lack of clarity. And in some areas I feel that the story didn't fit in with the storyline (I have read all the novels). (Dr Hasely finding that Slipspace artifact for example)
Received the Limited edition game yesterday, and contents were very good. If you like knick-knacks, the “diary” gives a good background into the spartan design and other insights.
The game itself is excellent. My son & I have been chewing through the co-operative campaign and at 2330 I had to kick him off to bed. Thank god there's a teacher strike today so he could sleep in!
Multiplayer looks excellent too, with new improved fire fight and forge modes. (Haven't had a chance to get too in depth yet though) Jump pack etc change game play heaps.
To conclude, get Reach ASAP. Halo is the reason I chose the Xbox over the PS3, and this game fully justifies the purchase of the console.
Bought the Legendary Edition from Migthyape. Received 9:00am this morning, opened the box, the packaging is great, tried on my XBox360, don't know what I can say about the game. Really recommended.
Well what can I say; the new (and last) installment of the Halo saga looks amaizing. Search up on youtube and you can find many previews of the game. One of my most favourites is forge world, aparently the biggest map you can forge with. Also in other halo games theres always a barrier that leads to the background well now you can go there. This is what hooked me into bying this game; and if that doesn't hook you in to get this game then I do not know what will. 5 stars.
After spending all day playing every aspect of Reach, I am still hooked on every single aspect of the game. Campaign is fun, with the legendary difficulty being incredibly complex. Forge is incredibly fun and much more improved over Halo 3's. Firefight is just superb, with so many customisation options its ridiculous. Not to mention the matchmaking, which has so many different game types, and it is very fast in finding a match with Aussies or fellow Kiwis, meaning non-lag games. Overall, this game goes far beyond what any game this year, possibly this decade, has ever gone in terms of quality as well as quantity. Must Buy!
This game had a huge amount of hype for it b4 it came out, but sadly it did not live up to it in my opinion, the campaign was way too short (especially for the last halo game made by bungie) I completed it on legendary in just 12 hours! the multiplayer is good but some of the changes that have been made seem to be an attempt to copy other fps titles (such as MW2), the changes to forge mode are welcome, as it is now easier to use and there is much more variety availible. However the changes to theatre mode are not so welcome, losing the ability to take a party to the theatre and check out each others videos is a severe disadvantage. In my opinion, this game had a very good story and I enjoyed it emmensly but unfortunately it was to short to sustain my appetite for long enough. The new firefight mode is a welcome addition to a game that involves spartans, but some maps get repetitive at the later levels. So, to sum up, halo:reach is a good game, well worth getting if you are a fan of the halo series, but if this is going to be your first halo purchase, I would advise getting halo 3, as the campaign is much longer, and the multiplayer is back to basics goodness.
Halo reach is really a one hit wonder. Please consider hiring out this game first I love halo games it was very fun for the first few weeks buy in a short time its gets very dull and boring (even online lacks the ability to keep the game interesting). So please consider this game :)
I bought this game and it clear puts the other halos to shame! great use of equipment etc 5 star rating
I didn't know what to expect after halo3 of what reach would be all about. And after reading the halo reach book I was left wondering if the game would live up to my expectations. For the first time ever playing the game I was speachless at the detail of graphics and how well the gameplay fitted with the cut scenes. It didnt take me long to find all the new weapons and aromor effects to see if these new weapons would out match any ive used in the other halos. With a mix of halo3 ODST, halo3 and (to my delight) a bit of COD as well. This game truely is more than I expected and I would recomend it to anyone that likes first person shooter games. Bungie (the makers of the game) , deffinitly went all out on this game to make it one of the greatest games ever.
It is finally out and it's great I can honestly say best halo game a must have for Xbox gamers. The campaign is awesome forge is awesome firefight is awesome everything is awesome. Bungie have really done a nice job with this one and I can sense it being the game of the year.
This is amazing. Upon inserting a disc you are treated with an awesome opening movie but the best part is in the multiplayer. There are so many differences from the old halo 3 multiplayer; there are now load outs in some games where you can choose special abilities. If you like the old halo games or COD then you will love this. There are also some new advances in fire fight. You can now choose to play against wave after wave of grunts, always fun. The best thing about reach is forge. I created an amazing forge map in about 45min thanks to the better placement system.
Overall this has an amazing multiplayer and campaign experience. I would recommend this to anybody.
So after months of trailers, and even the beta, I still was not quite convinced that reach would be what it says it is, now after viewing the new vidocs (on youtube), I have finally decided that this is one title I want in my collection. Bungie have fully fixed the forge mode, they have addressed all the problems found in forge from halo 3. And from what i've seen of the campaign it looks like it could be one not to miss. But don't take my word for it, look up the vidocs for yourself, you'll be back :)
Bungie has been making Halo: Reach since the end of Halo 3 in 2007. By October that will nearly be 4 years! And if thats not all, Halo: Reach is the last of the Halo series to be made by Bungie! It's going to be big, probably the biggest game of all time, even though its only coming out on the Xbox 360!
If I was a Halo fan, which I am, I would pre-order as soon as possible because most likely, this game will run out of stock super fast! An example of this is Microsofts original Xbox, a few weeks after the release, Microsoft had ran out of Xboxes! There was huge demand for them and they were being sold on eBay for $1000 plus! I believe this may be the case with Halo: Reach.
It's good to see Bungie and Microsoft exploring the missing section of the story line. How the Master Chief ended up in the Pillar of Autumn at the beginning of Halo: Combat Evolved. However, for those of us who have read the back-story it is a wait and see as to how closely the developers are going to stick to the pre-defined back story they had written. It also promises to enlighten us as to whether or not the Master Chief is the last (Technically) surviving Spartan II or not.
Well, Bungie is Bungie. They make good games.
As usual, this installment of halo is revolutionary in many ways, graphics,
gameplay, story and everything else, to name a few.
The one thing that disappoints me is the “new” vehicles, equipment and
weapons… in the prequel… I hope this isn't a spoiler for anyone but; there
is 4 or 5 seconds of overlap from Reach to Halo 1 and there is the most
extreme jump backwards in technology.
Bungie did everything right with this game the Story, graphics and sound was all perfect. When it comes to Multiplayer Halo Reach is in a class of its own, implementing things never seen in the Halo franchise, let alone any game!
Nothing needs to be said for the epic halo series, hours of fun.
Cool addition to the halo collection..the voices of the covenant are even funnier..weapons are better and the graphics are extreamly detailed
Reach… Without the Master is like fish in chips with out tomato sauce. However its a great game with good graphics and a new story… Totally love playing it
After completing the story line what got me was the surprise cheery at the end of the credits! Brilliant way to finish a great story line.
this has got to be the best alien shooter around graphics are very good and theres so much to do within this game. controls you pick up fast and the story line is good. halo is just going to be the best game around for a long time.
Best game of the year, amazing graphics, awesome campaign, online play is sickkk
Really good FPS. I havent played much Halo before but got a great price from Mighty Ape on this so gave it a try. Really enjoyed the game and have only scratched the multiplayer so far but that seems good too.
This was an awesome purchase…I bought it for my dad who is a Halo Freak! Fast shipping from Mighty Ape – arrived the next day which was amazing. Thanks and will definately purchase again from you :)
Saw it so cheap yesterday and had to have it for my partner's xmas present :) so happy I found it on here, MightApe is making xmas so easy :)
This game was an amazing way to send off Bungie. I felt that this game gave
me a lot more enjoyment that Halo 3 ODST. This is not the best halo game ever
but it was a real interesting journey.
Burn Bright, Burn Blue.
This is the latest installment of the Halo Series and has been the best yet, very well balanced multiplayer , and a moving campain story which fills a lot of gaps for most people
As we all know from the previous Halos they are unstoppable when it comes to a great single player i just didn't think they could top Halo 3 but they did. Then theres the multiplayer the new forge mode is amazing you can make your own world by yourself or with friends online/splitscreen. You can also go through the campaign with up to 4 friends to get passed those hard levels. Then we have this amazing multilayer matchmaking with heaps of gamemodes to chose from all fun but there is also firefight mode if you want to go through waves of enemies alone or with friends. Through all the modes you get points that you can spend on you character that you use in every game mode. I suggest you buy this game.
Great game for any fps fan. All the old halo feel to it with new systems such as armor abilities and new weapons. Good campaign storyline to follow too.
Halo Reach is Bungies last Halo project and they sure closed the halo chapter with a bang. This game is well worth buying for anyone who likes a bit of si-fi action first person shooter type game. For the diehard halo fan, you may have noticced things in the game don't quite match up with the novel Halo The Fall Of Reach, written by Eric Nylund around the same time Halo Combat Evolved came out. Even though some things don't add up the graphics and new abilties make up for all this. 9.5/10
Fantastic game, with a great storyline. But be careful of the flickering of the graphics now and then.
This by far the best Halo game ever it has so much more to it!!!
This game is my favourite game.
You can play through the super exciting campaign as many times as you want
without getting bored.
Online is one of the highlights aswell. Play with your friends online and mess
around on your custom made maps or premade maps.
With forge you can make anything form race tracks to hide and seek using the massive forge world map and and insane amounst of objects.
This game is all the Halo's put into one with improvements.
alo: Reach is a first person shooter. Players assume the role of Noble Six, a supersoldier engaged in combat with an alien collective known as the Covenant. Gameplay is more similar to the original Halo: Combat Evolved than later games in the series. The player character is equipped with a recharging energy shield that absorbs damage from weapons fire and impacts. When the energy shield is depleted, the player character loses health; when the character's health reaches zero, the game reloads from a saved checkpoint. Health is replenished using health packs scattered throughout Reach's levels
Great game if u love halo add this to your collection heres hoping there's another one
It is Excellent because amazing upgades like armour abilities are cool because the armour lock down puts a lighting shield around your body and hits the ground awwwwrsome, now not least the jet pack wow you boost up like lighting through the air
I am a big fan of halo but this game , after all the hype just didnt live up to what had being promised.the campaign is too short and the storyline is weak. But if your looking for a intresting first person shooter then this will do.
this game has in my opinion the most interesting forge world for creating your own map. but the online in my opinion sucks and has to much health per player and takes all the amo you start with to kill one person.
Halo Reach is a game you can not complain about but don't buy it unless you are a huge halo fan
They did not call this reach for only one reason. When you play this game it calls on all what we know and expect as gamers into one package that truly delivers........The impossible in some instances " Quality "
When one can play a game over and over again without becoming board of the graphics and the outcomes. This is what makes a "legend " no pun intended.
Just thought I would say this to people possibly looking at buying this game. On the new 360 slim 4gb console you cannot play co op multi player.
Other then that its a good game but its not great. You may want to hire before you buy this one. Or what for a fix on that issue regarding multi player.
Finally after 10 or so years we get to see what truly happened at Planet Reach. Yes fans alike will rejoice as Bungie's latest and possibly final Halo creation comes to life. But what is all the fuss about?
Well as you know many fans and reviewers have been hyping this titled up for sometime now but why? Is it because of what looks like a fantastic story driven campaign? Or is it the ability to matchmake into that campaign? How about the extensive multiplayer capabilities? Firefight, Forge World, normal multiplayer you name it. Or is it something to do with the improved gameplay, the polished character models, the music, the jetpacks, holograms, sprinting, armor lock, and various other new abilities your character has. Or could it be that your multiplayer character is the main character in the campaign?
Bungie in my opinion have truly out done themselves with this final Halo installment, they've given the community basically the ability to do what the Bungie team have been doing for the past decade.
Though I am a bit disappointed Mighty Ape isn't offering the same preorder goodies other firms are, it's still one damn good looking game nonetheless.
My advice for hardcore gamers is to order this game now, for those new to the franchise I suggest you rent it before you buy it just so you know what you're getting into.
This game gets my approval. Bring on the Limited Edition!!
If you have doubts about this game go watch one of the beta videos they are so good I bet all the the stores are going to be out of stock for ages the new weapons the new multiplayer systems the new assasinations I even think that there might be a space combat level in a fighter this game is going to be the best game for months
If you thought that Halo 3 was an epic, then you're right. If you think that Halo Reach is an epic, then you are wrong. Halo Reach is not an epic. It is THE game that will define the realm of FPSes forever. After witnessing this miracle, I have no doubts that it will be the fastest selling, most sold game of this decade – 2010–2020. Many developers will surely try to imitate Halo Reach, but none will be able to achieve the success that Bungie has acheived. Bungie deserves a genuine thanks, for it's FPS defining series, for it's Halo series. I am deeply saddened that Bungie will no longer produce Halo games. Long live Halo Reach, long live Bungie.
Bungie have gone all out putting all their best qualities from the previous 5,(halo1,halo2,halo3,halo wars, halo 3 odst) Odst wasnt what I thought it would be but halo reach looks like its going to live to its hype. Firefight, new improved forge, matchmaking and of course the campaign Reach Falls septeber 2010
With ODST not satisfing the halo thirst, halo is back and bigger than ever game of the year for sure.
This game looks incredible. With ODST being somewhat disappointing, it looks as the though Bungie have gone all out to bring the Halo franchise back to the front of gaming. The forge, multiplayer, gameplay and graphics are hugely improved on. Can't wait.
Halo Reach looks amazing. What more can I say?
If its anything like any of the other Halo games, it will be a huge hit!
im looking forward to the release date and will buy it on that day.
I love the long single player campaigns, Halo can only get…
BIGGER AND BETTER!
a must buy – 5 stars
I really enjoy the Halo games. Combat Evolved showed me what console shooters can deliver, which was a difficult task for a PC gamer like me brought up on Doom and Quake.
But more than the gameplay and graphics I'm excited about the story. I've read and own all of the novels set in the Halo universe and the story arc is just fantastic. Halo 3 touched on themes explored in the books and I suspect that Reach will bring more of that to the fans who know more about the canon than what the games deliver by themselves.
I just hope the game itself brings the story and emotion that the novel “The Fall of Reach” did. I'm looking forward to finding out.
I've played the beta. And it was awesome. I thought it was a great evolution of the halo series. Better graphics, fluid gameplay and amour abilities are an excellent addition to the Halo formula. However, it was only a beta, and it was multiplayer only so I can only give it a 4/5. But, based off the multiplayer beta, I have pre-ordered the limited edition. And am looking forward to it.
The newest yet to be released Halo game, “Halo Reach” is looking like it
is going to be the next great game. With a huge graphics and game mechanics
revamp it should be truly great. Another thing that most fans will be overjoyed
about is the return of the elites. With improved AI and a new threatening look
the new elite will take you back to the days when brutes didn't go berserker
with their lame AI. All things considered I would advise getting it before the
price goes up to $120-$150 (It will).

Peace to the Universe : )
One thing i have learnt from the Halo series is that promotion goes a long way as far as making sales goes. The 1st Halo was pretty cool, not fantastic but had some great things about it. When news was released that they were making a sequel everyone went nuts! and they really pushed the promo work for it on a huge scale. When Halo 2 was released it was completely average. barely anything had changed from the first. The same thing happened for Halo 3, completely over hyped to the point of becoming nauseous. While I'm sure Halo Reach “could” be great… experience would suggest hiring before buying another bungie game. Halo wars was crap and i cringe at the thought of how many Halo fans just went out and bought the game just because its part of the series. Bungie are great at promoting their games but very little actually goes into the life of them. Sure there are plenty of players for online multiplayer, but i can think of half a dozen games out there that have 10 times the quality of online play.
Dont be a sheep on a bungie cord, hire before you buy.
