I can understand why its game of the year. The graphics are super, gameplay is very easy to get use to. One of the best games I've played on Xbox

With Fallout 3: Game of the Year edition, not only do you get the main game, but you get all five downloadable content expansions. The main game is easily large enough to keep you playing for over a hundred hours (I myself am at 102 hours, and I'm only halfway!) and each expansion adds 3–4 hours of gameplay in itself. All of the expansions are also very varied so it never gets boring!

In Fallout 3, you play as a human who has spent all his life in a Vault, a huge nuclear bomb shelter built to protect humans from the US-Chinese war in 2077. It is now 200 years after the war, and your father mysteriously leaves, sparking a huge schism within the Vault. You must follow in his footsteps and find out what he is doing out in the Wasteland, unravelling a brilliantly written and well executed storyline.

This game is a definite must-buy for anyone who plays role-playing games and I recommend it to everyone, the amount of content is extraordinary and the gameplay is fantastic. The graphics are also incredibly realistic and the sound and music really add to the game. Easily in my top five games!

Great game would recommend to all RPG fans or all first person shooter fans because this game has it all from life changing decisions to uber slow motion gore. A must buy for christmas and with all the DLC: downloadable content built in it's great value. 10/10 :]

Bethesda Softworks has a history of producing great RPGs, and Fallout 3:Game of the Year is perhaps their best yet. You begin as a vault dweller in the year 2277, living in a huge underground vault, built to protect humans from the nuclear devastation resulting from the US-Chinese war. Your sheltered existence is broken when your father mysteriously disappears and you must track him down in the perilous Capital Wasteland and the ruins of Washington D.C.

The game's plot is intricately woven and well executed, and is backed up by some superb graphics and exciting gameplay. The game is hugely open ended, allowing hundreds of hours of gameplay. The addition of the 5 DLCs extend this lifetime even further and add their own flair and fantasy to this exquisite game. I can easily see how this game won the awards it did, including “Best Game of 2008” (IGN) and “Best RPG” (GameSpy, 2009). This is definitely one of the best RPGs I have ever played.

Fallout 3 is an excellent role-playing game. It follows an open world setting in a post-atomic warfare Washington D.C. The setting, game play and role playing elements in Fallout 3 are quite simply in a league of their own. This is a must have for Xbox 360, PC or Ps3 owners.

Fallout 3 will go down in history as one of the best games of all time! the multi award winning game speaks volumes for itself. It is a must for any gamer.

I have heard a lot of good things about this game but it isn't for everyone.I per­sonally find it a bit of a drag as its very time consuming and is easy to lose your way.But others think its great, give it ago and see what you think!

As interesting and diverse as fallout 3 G.O.T.Y.E. is, I cant help but be infuriated buy the amount of bugs in the game and the frequint availability if cheats/glitches

Fallout 3 is a game that will get you hooked after the first hour (once you've skimmed past the introduction section). The environments are endless, the voice acting is crisp (sometimes annoying) and the missions are enjoyable lengthy.

The story is at times a little disjointed, but thoroughly entertaining and immersive. The difficulty can get infuriating if you don't level your character to your playing strengths, so make sure you do your homework prior to commencing your Fallout journey (IMPORTANT: 9 points on Intelligence straight away).

Fallout 3 can be played in ways: turn based RPG or FPS style. If you think it'll play like Call of Duty or Battlefield you'll be heavy disappointed; the targeting is frustratingly inaccurate. The turn based system (V.A.T.S.) is helpful and not too complicated to get to grips with, and when you focus you level perks on V.A.T.S based assists it can become a deadly tool. The best option is play balanced, mix it up and you'll get the most out of Fallout 3.

Overall, this game is top quality and thoroughly deserving of its Game of the Year title. You can complete the main quests and side quests in 50 hours game time (along with all the achievements), making it good value for money.

Fallout 3 GOTY edition is a must buy for those who brought Fallout 3 when it was originally released but didn't buy any of the DLC's. I paid $60 on Mighty Ape for the game (it pays to look out for the daily deals and weekend specials) when you pay $66 (4000 Microsoft points) for all the DLC's on the Xbox Live Marketplace. When the games not on special, you get the main game for $24 + the $66 worth of DLC, bargain.

Great game

Played it, finished it few years ago, on PC. Unfortunately, my PC is getting too old to handle this game! So I bought this GOTY Edition from Mighty Ape, along with New Vegas Ultimate Edition for xBox360! Good bundle price, thanks to the monkeys! Can't wait to play it again! All right, my review: Even though I still think FALLOUT 2 is better, compare to FALLOUT3. But no doubt that the Bethesda team of FALLOUT3 did realized what makes the old FALLOUT series a timeless masterpiece, they learned from it, enhanced those elements and successfully resurrect it in 21st century, by giving more contemporary touches, e.g. First-person-shooting gameplay, old swing band songs as background (which I believe it's important but impossible to deliver back in 90s). Thank you, Bethesda! But, honestly, when I knew that there will be a third Fallout game way before it was released, I was on the one hand excited about it, as I have been waiting for this third game for 10 years. But on the other hand I was worried about it! What if Bethesda screw up this project– From my point of view, the FALLOUT series is by far the greatest RPG game ever, period. It would leave a permanent scare on this greatest RPG series if Bethesda fail to deliver! Wouldn't it be easier to launch something brand new than Fallout 3 and try to please the old Fallout fans, especially after this long 10 years of waiting! Apparently, I worried too much! From the moment I started the game, when those good old 40s, 50s pre-war or post-war time swing songs played, and when I used V.A.T.S. To defeat mutants, when Brotherhood of Steel was mentioned again, when Nuka Cola was found, I knew it is FALLOUT. It's FALLOUT in 21st century! For an old fart like me, there's nothing can ever replace FALLOUT 2. But Fallout 3 from Bethesda set a new standard of how FALLOUT should look like in 21st century! It is definitely good enough to be part of the FALLOUT legacy! Okay, sum up: If I can only choose one RPG game for 20th century, it would be FALLOUT 2 If I can only choose one RPG game for 21st century, it would be FALLOUT 3

You will enjoy this game A LOT if you love Fallout 1 & 2. Well, I do. You might enjoy this game if you love The Elder Scrolls series and willing to try guns and nuclear launcher over swords and spells! It is FALLOUT for 21st century!!!!!

Fallout 3 is one of my favourite games of all time. Its really unique. Its simply stunning. The graphics aren't the most amazing, but the exploration and combat is great fun. The game (as with most Bethesda games) has quite a few bugs but you might be lucky to miss them. A must have.

I perfer this game over Fallout Las Vegas anyday, I love the idea and the graphics are amazing. The storyline is interesting and it keeps you hooked enough to finish it and find out what happens. The weapons are amazing and this edition is far better and worth the money, compared to the regular edition. Amazing extra missions and areas to explore. A game that you could easily play for hours. Perfect.

Fallout 3 is honestly one of the best RPG's ever made, it lets you fully customise your character from gender, race, facial features, hair styles, skills and karma, it is also a full free-roaming game right from when you leave the vault, from there you can go anywhere (with the risk of death of course). It has an incredibly captivating storyline with plenty of twists and a real shock right near the end. The expansions transport you right out of the Capital Wasteland and to different worlds, sometimes literally! Every expansion offers a new region to explore and new quest lines to discover and solve. The endings of every quest allow you to change the world around you depending on your choices, I highly recommend this game to any RPG player!

such a fantastic game, i personally have over 30 hours of gameplay in this particular game, once you start playing you will be addicted to the story line and the concept of the game, such a majour variety of weapons, in every step of the game, you make decisions, you can try and provoce someone or be their allies and defend them, there are a majour variety of different enemies which make it exciting (every enemy has some sort of weakness) you definatelly wont be dissapointed in this game

This is a game where you can do anything. Unlike other games there are no limitations. You think of it basically you can do it. Thrill seeking adventure mixed with first person shooting and what seems to be an endless gaming world gives you many hours of game play. This game is engrossing heart thumping fun.

This game is an exciting never ending game. You will never get sick of it. With the amazing add-ons you will get a better kick out of it.

As if Fallout 3 wasnt already big enough! game of the year edition includes 5 fantastic expansions to this already amazing game! Dont let that overwelm you! You will be blown away by Fallouts spectacular setting and its incredible depth in story and range of choices you can make. Simply put this game is addictive and will have exploring the wastelands for months on end. Game of the year 2008, well deserved I think.

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition is one my favourite games. The story is so vast and interesting in comparison to some other RPGs. It also has something to offer for many different people, you can choose to play it more like an RPG or choose to go psycho on the FPS side of things, either way is a fun option. The Downloadable Content (DLC) add some cool tid-bits to the original and make the game worth getting for those people who haven't played it since the DLC came out.

Also, just for those who were wondering, it comes with the original Fallout 3 on one disc and the DLC on a seperate disc. The idea being that before you play the game, you put the DLC disc in and install the DLC.

A very original and absorbing game, and certainly a must play. Also, if you haven't played it yet, buy it and play through it, quick, before Fallout: New Vegas comes out!

An epic game that takes you from civility to killing giant bugs with mini nukes, yip that's right mini nukes. its a great game that gives you plenty to explore, every corner of the map has little hidden areas and most villages have a couple of side quests that defiantly build up a lot of gaming hours. if this game had on major flaw it would be that it was made to focus on first person player perceptive and from third person perspectives the avatar motions seem a little stiff, otherwise cant complain.

Fallout 3 is both a flavourful RPG and an enjoyable sandbox shooter. The world is reminiscent of another of Bethesda's GOTY award winning RPG's Oblivion, with huge open map and non-linear story that lets the player roam free. Yet another great title in Bethesda's co­llection and would make an excellent addition to yours.

That is the age old question. I was really surprised by fallout because it delivered in both. Of course it is not a real FPS as you cannot look down the iron sights (will be available in New Vegas) but I loved it. As far as the RPG side goes it's great. If you liked Oblivion or morrowind fallout 3 is a must buy. Sometimes you get sick of RPGs only being swords and magic but fallout is really different. I played it over and over again and got hundreds of hours from it.

The expansions are worth it. I have bought most of them and it would have been so much cheaper if I bought game of the year edition. I really enjoyed them except for operation anchorage which I thought was a bit of a lit down because you could mot stockpile weapons and plot wasn't very good but still worth it for the other expansions especially broken steel which raises your level cap to 30. This is worth it as you can reach 20 quite early. Also it comes with new perks.

Overall this is the best option for you if you want to but fallout as you will save money down the track when you come to buy the expansions
