"sorry"

this game doesnt look that great IMO but if you preorder now you should be able to get a multiplayer booster pack. MW3 is using the same engine as MW2 so its going to be exactly the same game just on new maps with some new perks chucked in for show derp is derp is derp is derp

2 stars "Calling you back to duty far too often..."

If you loved mw2 then this game is for you. If you wanted something new to refresh the series then I'm sorry to tell you that this is basically Mw2.5…

Is it so hard to upgrade your engine and take more than a year to make a truly great game-

Be cash wise, spend your money on something NEW and not on a stale series.

4 stars "Modern Warfare 2.5-"

Alright so ill start off by saying that, im a huge FPS fan. Halo, COD, Battlefield, Crysis, Gears of War, Homefront, Counter Strike, are just the few I can name that I have put hours of gameplay into.

I brought MW2 on PC and I have put a surreal amount of hours into that game, 90% in multiplayer. I never played any other FPS as much and got as much enjoyment out of it.

MW3 looks like a upgraded version of MW2, which to me isnt much of a disappointment, and the revamped Killstreak system looks really interesting along with many of the extras.

The downside is that quickscoping will be making its return, and I hope to god that the One-Man-Army perk has been removed due to its unbalancing with Grenade launchers. Akimbo was a unreal approach to me and I still dislike it.

I will be one of the “idiots” buying this game, at the same time getting Halo Anniversary, and possibly Battlefield 3, and whether I enjoy it or not will be decided when I play it :)

If people are looking to find a different game to play, I would say MW3 isnt for you, but then again the most recent “different” FPS I remember coming out was Borderlands (Which was fantastic, with a crap story), most are series games so I guess nothing is really new :D

1 stars "Disappointed"

MW3… What a load of bollocks, certianly not worth the $150 its going for in most stores and still not worht the $130 I got it for from pre-ordering it online.

Completed the single player in around 5 hours (altho a proper and legitimate ending to the story, not some rough shod piece of crap some companies do) but multiplayer is awful. Its jst MW2 with a few new maps and a slight difference in how you earn/unlock your Perks and weapon upgrades. Now, dont get me wrong, I wasnt expecting much in the way of difference, but to me it sucks.

Quick scoping it back, I ended up being a game where all but 2 or 3 players had sniper rifles and every1 was goign round 1 shotting people (and when you see it on kill cam, they havent even got a bead on you, you're just dead becos they looked at you)

Black Ops is by far the better game in my opinion, so I may well stick with that. What a waste of money >_>

Description

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is First-person Shooter rooted in a fictional, but ultra realistic near-future conflict of mostly American forces with those of the Russian Federation around the globe.

“… The multiplayer is hands-down the best it has ever been…singleplayer campaign and Spec Ops mode add value…too damn addicting to pass up.” 9/10 – IGN
“another great descendant of the game that changed a generation.” 8.5/10 – Gamespot

With a focus on multiplayer gameplay which includes innovative new functionality that encourages multiple gameplay combat strategies, a new 2-player co-op option, new play modes, weapons and more. The game also includes a gripping single player campaign that picks up where Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 left off, and game integration with the Call of Duty: Elite online service.

Pointstreaks and Strike Packages: Killstreaks, benefits and abilities awarded for stringing together multiple kills, have been transformed into Pointstreaks, creating a system that rewards players both for landing kills and completing objectives. These rewards have been broken up into three different categories, known as Strike Packages:

  • Assault – Pointstreaks within this package chain together and deal direct damage. It includes classics like the Predator Missile and Attack Helicopter. Your streak resets on death.
  • Support – Pointstreaks within this package do not chain, focusing instead on surveillance and disruption. Your streak does not reset on death meaning they will respawn with you.
  • Specialist – Pointstreaks within this package are designed for advanced players. Rewards come in the form of additional perks for optimal performance. These perks last until death.

Weapon Proficiencies:Just like your player, weapons now rank up, unlocking additional attachments, reticules, camos and the new proficiency category. Weapon Proficiencies not only allow you to get better with weapons, they also allow you customize.

Modes and Match Customization: Along with the return of the fan favorites Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 introduces several new game modes. Collect dog tags from killed players, In Team Defender mode, grab the flag and protect the flag carrier for as long as you can to increase your team's score.Configure any mode how you want it and then share these over the Call of Duty: Elite online service.

2-player Co-op Special Ops Survival Mode: Special Ops cooperative action returns with a bevy of additions, including 16 new objective-based missions and the all-new Survival Mode. Team up online, locally, or play solo and face endless waves of attacking enemies throughout every multiplayer map. Purchase and customize your weapons, air support, equipment and abilities to stand up against increasingly difficult forces. The cooperative Survival Mode also serves as an effective training tool for competitive multiplayer action.

Call of Duty: Elite: Online multiplayer oriented service offering both free and subscription based levels of access dedicated to the game franchise, featuring lifetime statistics across multiple games, social-networking options, competitions, a mobile app, Facebook integration and more.

REVIEWS

“…the competitive multiplayer still offers the same sweet satisfaction you've come to expect from the series. This is some of the best online shooter action around, and with the daunting challenges of Spec Ops and the exciting, globe-trotting campaign, Modern Warfare 3 stands tall as another great descendant of the game that changed a generation.” 8.5/10 – Gamespot
THE GOOD – Climactic campaign, Lots of varied and challenging Spec Ops action, Exciting and entertaining competitive multiplayer, Spec Ops profile spreads the satisfaction of leveling up.
THE BAD – Multiplayer sticks closely to familiar formula.

“…Modern Warfare 3 takes the fantastic series we’ve come to love over the years and iterates on it with great success. The multiplayer is hands-down the best it has ever been, with more features, more modes and a ton of new levels and ways to interact via Call of Duty Elite. The singleplayer campaign and Spec Ops mode add value to the overall package, creating something that may not be perfect, but is too damn addicting to pass up.” 9/10 – IGN
