5 stars "The spiritual sucessor to Mashed"

If you've played Micro Machines or Mashed on PS2 then this would be the next gen version of it. If you're into multiplayer gaming (and I'm incredibly disappointed in Microsoft, why have a console with up to 4 controllers and only make single player games?) and want another party game that isn't Lips or Rock Band then give Blur a whirl.

Take a car (and they are actually real models), take a track, throw in some power-ups and it's like Mario Kart 64 all over again. The conrols are simple so that anyone can pick up and play, there aren't too many powerups so you get used to them very quickly, get 4 friends together and you'll be laughing and trash talking each other for hours.

Aside from racing there's also a destruction derby mode so if you just want to smash the fenders off of each other then take a break and show your mates who's king of the controller.

And of course don't forget that you can take the action online as well.

5 stars "was initially sceptical but Bizzare Creations have done it again"

As a rule I don't generally go for car games that have a shooter element like this so I was very sceptical about Blur. But after a few days playing single player and online I am totally sold.
Bizzare Creations (from the famed Project Gotham series) have done a brilliant job of balancing the combat elements with a great driving mechanic that ends up in a hell of a lot of fun.
Graphics and audio are absolutely top notch. Some texture detail is low here and there but your screen is usually too motion blurred or full of explosive lighting fx to ever notice it.
Highly recommended if your looking for fun.

5 stars "its a really good game!"

A 5 stars is a really good score and I had very fun time with my friends. Its looks great and looks fun, I guess I'm just not a race car guy. The last car racer that I enjoyed was Super Mario Kart for the NDS and this is an advance version of that. i like this!

5 stars "Best multiplayer racing game EVER!"

The most underrated racing game I have ever seen with awesome multiplayer both online and 4 player split screen! The single is great too, a mix of project gotham racing and mario kart.. a realistic racing game with unrealistic add on weapons to make a perfect combination for any racing fan.. be it casual or hardcore.

5 stars "Blur Is Spelled W. O. W."

If Mario Karts and Need For Speed Most Wanted had a love child, and then appeared on The Jeremy Kyle Show with Burnout Paradise City and Forza 3 claiming paternity and demanding DNA tests (really … Stay with me. I AM going somewhere with this), then Blur would be the result. Fast, no-mucking-about races, a good mix of tracks, damage that will end up in a wreck if you don't make use of the repair power-up or drive more defensively … It's like someone raided the Best Ideas drawers at the company offices behind the best sub genres of car racking games.

Blur – an apt name, considering the insane sense of speed you get in this game even from the first levels – has some of the best aspects of Kart racing (immediate accessibility/the ease of play, power-ups and weapons, etc) as well as some of the aspects usually reserved for more serious racing sub-genres (real world car models, a critical damage mechanic, detailed graphics, the aforementioned sense of real speed) and definitely ends up more Jack Of All Trades than Master Of None.

The power-ups are an example of the thought that went into balancing this title: the amount of the power-ups has been kept small and very specific; their effect is right at a sweet spot between causing real damage/disruption and not being so powerful as to make any one player seem invincible. As with the power-ups, so with the rest of the game. There's no sense of any element being randomly thrown in for good measure and then the title being rushed off to print. It's an extremely well crafted and thought out experience.

This game is one of the best things to happen with car racing on consoles. 8.5/10

5 stars "Sheer awesomeness!!"

I brought this game thinking it would be very much an arcade game, it is a little bit. But if you take away the resets and power-ups it does feel like a racing sim. So so so much fun! Online play is alot more intense than career mode mostly because human players are alot more trigger happy than the AI. The only thing i think could increase the fun is if there were some tracks that had loop-de-loops and insanely massive jumps to create more air-to-air combat.
I would recommend this a million times over to anyone.
