This is one out of the box from the late 50s. This is a time when movies had a PLOT… remember those… before an over-reliance on special effects.
Charles Laughton's performance is truly brilliant, with a hint of comic genius & timing. Ably supported by Elsa Lanchester as his long-suffering Nurse.
Deitrich proves she not only could'nt sing but apart from being interesting to look at, was a fairly ordinary actress as well.
Tyrone Power's performance is good, with a spot of over-acting (popular at the time). Line to remember: “You Madam, are a chronic and an habitual LIAR!!!”
Get this… it's an under-rated Classic!
