Irish trio The Script are set to release their first concert DVD filmed by acclaimed director Dick Carruthers ( Oasis, White Stripes, Paul McCartney.)
The band were back on their home turf on July 2nd 2011 to play a sold-out show in front of 54,000 fans. The event marked the pinnacle of the band's career to date coming just 3 years after their 1st gig at Dublin's Sugar Club in front of 28 people. The DVD is of the entire concert, includes their hits The Man Who Can't be Moved, Nothing, Breakeven, For the First Time and also includes a version of Written in The Stars by the band featuring Tinie Tempah, who supported on the night.
The Script's Glen Power says: "There's nothing like playing your hometown of Dublin; your friends and family are all in attendance. But to play in from of 54,000 people is something you can never quite imagine and was a very surreal moment.
“When I walked out onstage and looked out into the crowd it was one of the most amazing moments of my life so far and to hear 54,000 people singing the songs back to us was breathtaking.”
A 2-disc deluxe edition of the DVD is available which includes a 68-minute backstage world tour documentary; THE ROAD TO AVIVA, which also features moments from their Australian tour earlier this year. The deluxe DVD is available to pre-order now via JB Hifi & Sanity.
