"Probably the best Fantasy book I've read"

Purchased on Mighty Ape

I can honestly say I think this is the single best fantasy book I have read. While I haven't read them all I covered quite the range, from Brooks, Sanderson and Jordan, to other epics such as Weis/Hickman and Tolkien. This is tale that will stay with me for all time.

I just bought this for the 3rd time because I have given my previous copies to friends/family and never got them back! Everyone I know loves this book. Fantastically written with a very unique story.

"Love it!"

Its a fantastic trilogy concept, a story told over three days. Its like Harry Potter meets the Princess Bride. Ive already ordered book two. Its looks like a long wait till book three. But when it gets written I guarantee I will buy that too.

Description

The riveting first-person narrative of a young man who grows to be the most notorious magician his world has ever seen. From his childhood in a troupe of traveling players, to years spent as a near-feral orphan in a crime- ridden city, to his daringly brazen yet successful bid to enter a legendary school of magic, "The Name of the Wind" is a masterpiece that transports readers into the body and mind of a wizard. It is a high-action novel written with a poet's hand, a powerful coming-of-age story of a magically gifted young man, told through his eyes: to read this book is to be the hero.
