This keyboard features keys in a Chinese “Cangjie” layout but we can also make keys in BoPoMoFo, Dayi, Wubi or any combination of those layouts. The polished brass sides are engraved with a Dragon and Phoenix, two complimentary symbols among the 4 supernatural spirits in Chinese mythology. The function keys are adorned with symbols for the hexagrams of the I-Ching.
Many of the secondary keys featured on this keyboard were customized to a particular client's tastes, but a more standardized version with English ‘shift’, ‘enter’, ‘ctrl’ keys, etc, is available.
Clicky mechanical keyboards, with their Cherry MX switches and robust base units, can be considered a form of keyboard fetishism, but Datamancer's Richard Nagy takes “paraphrenalic technofetishism” to new heights with his custom Victorian computer mods with a steampunk twist.
