Purchased on Mighty Ape

Should you buy this Game- No. Why- Because it's not very good. TL:DR Analysis: Sorry MightyApe, but this one is purely a $5 bargain-bin time waster to be picked up in 2015/2016 sometime.

Video games based off movies have a traditionally bad rap, but this one should have been different, having been delayed to coincide with the release of Star Trek Into Darkness. This gave the developers more time to work on the game.

Unfortunately none of that work actually seemed to go into the game itself.

Sound: The actors lent their voices to the game, and some lines are witty enough, but others are quite stilted, and the fifteenth time you hear Kirk imploring Spock to help him out gets a bit tiring quickly.

Graphics: Very pretty and lens-flarey from a distance. Up close however it gets pretty bad. Such items as skin tone to facial animations are solidly in the “Creepy” part of the uncanny valley. Not to mention the glitches that let you see the inside of Spocks eyeball.

Background Scenery: Amazingly beautiful. The high point of the game. Once you get past the lens flares.

Plot: Non existent. One presumes it got lost in black hole somewhere.

Gameplay: Co-operative. One person plays as Spock, one as Kirk. This can be over the net, or if you want to solo it, the AI plays the other character. This can be an issue when puzzles are deliberately and awkwardly contrived to require two people to complete them.

AI: Abysmal. For something that was meant to be a high point of the game, it's really, really bad. Frequently the AI-controlled characters will be discovered running in circles, completely ignoring weapon fire or standing in place instead of helping you out Sometimes all three at once.

Final Rating: “This is most illogical, Captain”

"The designers of this game must hate star trek"

I know start trek games tend to be bad and I have been hanging out for a good one for years. Sadly this is not it. This game is so badly made it feels like joke.
