"Excellent reinvention of Risk"
The hidden packets and surprises really do make this a gem. I'll keep it spoiler free, but let's just say that 5 games in, we've probably opened more packets than we should have and it's a real talking point.
It has been nicknamed “Risk: Fluxx” but that's probably mainly due to me playing to open packets rather than to win!
The packets are a great equaliser, which is necessary for a campaign which maintains the interest of all. If anyone looks like they are too strong and looking to win, make sure you meet the criteria to open a packet on your next game and chances are you will be back to square one again.
Highly recommended for all who enjoy Risk, and the shorter nature of the games (50 – 80 minutes) solves Risk's largest historical problem (being too long for what it is).
"Very cool addition to the original game."
Having a lot of fun with this. It is an interactive version of the original risk game. A wee bit of a surprise to see that you write on the board, place stickers on the board and get surprise missions and changes as you play. Not sure how it will all look after 15 games but I think we will get our moneys worth. The start of one game will depend on how the last game finished.
