"Horror will never be the same again!"

You are Josh, a recovering alcoholic on holiday with your wife Kate when suddenly your train derails. You find yourself searching a castle, fighting zombies, montrosities and avoiding traps reminiscent of Saw to save your wife from the mad scientist and his guard, Ernst.

This game is the first of its kind, a horror kinect title. The motion controls are very simple and easy to use with patience and correct posture, although there is auto-movement for the more impatient. The combat is joyous (made better by a huge variety of weapons), you can aim for different body parts, swing vertically, horizontally or stab which do varying amounts of damage. The graphics are suprisingly good for a kinect game, as well as the dialogue. Although not being totally ‘frightening’, it is akin to Left 4 Dead and house of the dead, in that it is an enjoyable hack 'n slash horror while following a set path, except this is a tad more complex and more player inclusive.

Overall, this is a huge step for kinect, a horror game that incorporates the use of kinect well. For anyone who enjoys gore, zombies or Saw, this game is for you. A fully immersive zombie-slaying game, the first mature game for the kinect.

Although there are some issues, it is more personal play style, for example, some people hate the controls while others love it, the same for dialogue and character apperance. Personally I love it and advise you to check out the images and videos here. Buy this bad boy right here at Mighty Ape, with the best prices around!

"A sign of things to come :)"

This is a great game that utilises the Kinect for XBOX 360.

The story is not particularly original; the feel of the game is somewhere between the Silent Hill games and Saw movie franchise, ( i.e. looking for your wife whilst trying to survive and Eastern European castle full of zombie robots controlled by a mad scientist) but that is also a good thing, especially for die hard fans of horror and gore.

The controls could be better, as it takes awhile to get used to them and they are rather akward. However, having to do a specific motion, such as crouching or opening doors, for an interaction, and physically attacking is pretty cool.

Overall the game is 8/10 for me. It's definately a great game for kinect, and worth the learning curve.
