5 stars "Complete and utter madness...just the way I like it :D"

Who doesn't love zombies? When all else fails add some zombies to the mix and everyone will love it. The new story is actually pretty lengthy, thought it would be shorter but its well worth it with so much crazy zombie filled fun!

Rockstar has really made this game interesting to me because of all of the myths and legends that are new to this DLC, like the chupacabra, UNICORN (yes I know, we all love unicorns), sasquatches and the four horses of the apocalypse (death, war, pestilence and famine) which will be a challenge to find and break.

Heaps of fun and madness will ensue with the new multiplayer modes too like zombie overrun and land grab.

Make sure to bring your holy water!

1 stars "Boring and repetitive."

I know everyone raves about this addon but I found it to be a complete bore. Yes I liked the premise and the zombies are really well done, but it's so repetitive. Most of the game is rescuing towns and you always do it in one of the same two ways, by burning a bunch of coffins in the cemetery and putting down the remaining zombies (you have to do this twice sometimes) or getting ammo to the handful of survivors who are usually standing on rooftops shooting zombies with sniper rifles, and then helping them wipe out the remaining zombies. Fun once or twice but not over and over again. And when you've rescued a town the undead will eventually attack again so you must travel back and do it all again and again!

There are a small number of story missions and side missions to do but they are not even worth mentioning, although I admit I didn't finish the game so maybe they pick up in the second half.

There are the usual high production values that RDR had in terms of voice acting and music ect, and as I said the zombies are done well and there is a great variety to the models so they don't always look the same, and there are cool little random encounters where you come across people in the wilderness that you can escort to safety and stuff and that's fun, but those are the only good things I can say about it.

You may have read that this time around ammo will be very scarce, and you may think this might introduce an interesting survival element to the game. Well, just like the lies told about RDR prior to its release that survival would be a big part of the game and hunting would be essential… It's complete rubbish. You will struggle in your first couple of encounters but that's it. Ammo is quite plentiful if you're reasonably careful with it and conscientious about looting chests and bodies. You may occasionally run out of ammo for one of your guns but you'll have plenty more for your other guns.

Other complaints I have are the same I had with RDR. There is no need to explore this wonderful and detailed world because anything you can interact with (including chests this time) is shown on the map. Your horse still magically respawns if it's killed and comes when you whistle for it no matter how far away you are from where you left it. And most unbelievably to me there is still this BAFFLING requirement to hold down the A button to run and to maintain your horse's speed. But at least now John won't automatically put his weapon away when not in use so you can autorun by keeping your weapon in your hand.

  • The full Undead Nightmare game
  • The Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack
  • The Legends and Killers Pack
  • The Liars and Cheats Pack
  • All the Multiplayer Free Roam modes released to date.
Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare introduces hours of a new single-player storyline and brand new multiplayer content. Seemingly overnight, a zombie plague ravages the once bountiful frontier, decimating the landscape and reawakening the dead. In towns, settlements and outposts throughout the world, the uninfected citizens are left to fight for survival against waves of the undead. John Marston must ride out into the vast and terrifying world and survive long enough to find a cure.

Four zombie classes enter the fray, each possessing unique characteristics, attacks, and defenses. Mythical creatures roam the frontier, alongside zombie cougars, bears, wolves and many more. Taking down the undead requires non-traditional weaponry, including the new Blunderbuss, which can be loaded with looted remains of fallen zombies. The deadly Tomahawk and the Explosive Rifle make a triumphant comeback and will be available exclusively for those who downloaded the Legends and Killers Pack and the Liars and Cheats Pack.

The all new single-player narrative features new challenges, quests, and ambient events, including Missing Persons, where the player must find a missing survivor lost amongst the throngs of undead. New competitive multiplayer and multiplayer free roam content includes Undead Overrun, a brand new multiplayer survival mode where waves of infected attack and players must work together to stay alive against increasingly difficult odds.
