High performance for Optical and Laser mice The Razer Sphex was made with one primary mission in mind: to make high gaming grade performance affordable for everyone. And the results speak for themselves. The Razer Sphex keeps up with any other mousing surface regarding precision and tracking quality for both Optical and Laser mice.
Adheres to any surface The innovative adhesive used for the Razer Sphex enables you to attach and remove it easily; making it the perfect companion anywhere you go. And don't worry about it getting dirty, as you can just wash it and it's going to be like new again.
Gaming grade desktop skin The Razer Sphex brings a new approach to the gaming surface line that has not been seen before. The ultrathin form factor allows gamers to play on a gaming grade surface that is literally a skin of the desktop.
Features:
Once you're actually able to stick it down, it works well. Nice texture, and keeps clean.
Edit: After nearly 3 months of excellent use, the thing just lost it's grip, and now slides with the mouse. It's stick is completely useless :-( I have to cellotape it to the desk now. It's a $35 mousemat that does the same as a 5c piece of paper. Stink!
I got this mouse mat because my laser-mouse didn't like my desk surface, it was good for the first few weeks but kept getting dirty and being peeled back due to my sleeves & keyboard hitting the edges, eventually the grip just stopped and I threw this useless piece of paper out
This mouse mat is very thin. It is essentially a skin for your desktop.
I was using some cardboard with double sided tape before this, much better now.
Combined with a Razer Deathadder it feels very nice. This is my first gaming
grade mousing surface and I love it, will likely spend more on a better/more
expensive version down the track.
I do want to stress that this is no mousepad it is a 1mm thick sheet
of plastic, but it does the job well. Only reason I dont give 5 stars is that
this is a little pricey considering what you get.
For the last few years I have been using a piece of paper tapped to the desk as my mouse pad (and a string of freebie mousepads before that). I got sick of having to change the paper all the time so I decided to try this mouse pad while on special.
I was immediately impressed with how smooth the movement was over the pad, while still having enough grip to stop the mouse from taking off. Although occasionally it does slip away from me a bit if I bump the mouse. The surface is bumpy but not rough.
The other thing that impressed me what how flat the pad was. It must be no more than 1mm thick or so. This was important to me because I had become used to paper, and I couldn't stand other mousepads that raised my hand more than a few mm above the surface of the desk (I rest my wrist on the desk).
The only thing that lets it down is the strange reusable adhesive they have put on the bottom. I presume this was because it was too thin to use normal rubber coating to prevent slipage. However, it makes it more difficult to adjust, and it sometimes gets crap stuck to it (fluff etc, not actual crap).
Overall I would recommend this mouse pad
I am not sure why other people are having problems with this mat. It sticks great, you just have to clean the desk properly before applying the mat. Mine has been on for months, and is not giving any signs of peeling off. Recommended.
