"Best PSP Title To Date!"
The PSP promise to be 'a PS2 in the palm of your hand' is at last fulfilled with this title and if there are more games like this to come, PSP's are going to be shifting off the shelves at a faster rate. It's that good - some people will buy the PSP to get this game, and stay big fans of the handheld if the momentum in quality titles is kept up.
Although there will have been concessions made for the size of the PSP, you'll quickly forget that fact. The same great graphics, sound, excellent characterization and humour that you loved in the PS2 Ratchet & Clank games are all here! I've only had the game a week and I'm still cracking up at the funny cut-scenes, being enthralled by the beautiful graphics as I scoot through the universe planet by planet, and venting the frustration I have for my boss on various life forms with my wrench.
To make it clear that I'm not just gushing freshets of praise and wearing rose-tinted specs, there are a couple of minor glitches and niggles. For starters, the camera control can be a bit of a pain, but then that is true of almost all 3D platformers, and not just on handhelds. And for some reason, the wrench impact sounds are remarkably underwhelming, all the more obviously so because of the great quality of the rest of the sounds in the game.
I seriously hope this is the start of a R&C series for the PSP ... as with the PS2 R&C titles, I will be collecting the lot! And the girlfriend (if I had on) would be missing out on quality time because of them!
