"Fun, origional game"
Gripshift is everythign you have read about it. It balences Puzzle and driving perfectly. The beginner levels teach you everythign you need to know about the kinds of tricks and traps you will find in the levels making for a nice smooth transition into the game.
The graphics aver very smooth and the framerate will never drop to a stutter. The soundtrack is entirely NZ music by groups such as shapeshifter, misfits of science, filterbrats and the fast crew. All in all this game is great fun and will have you replaying over and over to get the perfect scores, actually is will FORCE you to play over and over for the perfects scores, my only gripe would be that I think the points requirements for advancement through the levels may stop some people from completing the game. By the time you get up to the "hard" levels, its not joking, it gets pretty hard but never stops being fun. This is a must own game, or at least must play and give it a go. Unless you hate platformers or driving games you will love it.
"Great all-rounder from NZ"
Now, I'm not a driving game fan, being more into puzzle and platform titles on console, so you might not think this game was really my cup of tea, but it's one of those wonderful genre-busters that comes along so rarely. It doesn't really matter what sort of games you usually buy; odds are you'll like Gripshift.
It was developed by Sidhe in Wellington, and they've done us kiwis proud. The game is slick, fun, and perfectly suited to the pick up/put down aspect of PSP, as well as prolonged play. They've outdone a lot of much better-known studios in terms of production values, innovation, and polish. I'd consider Gripshift a must-have for any PSP library. You'll find yourself replaying levels, and the zero load-time between attempts puts a smile on the dial, and even the initial loads are very short. The game has good sound, great levels, good art, and brilliant design, forcing some lateral thinking (and driving), and keeping interest piqued with its platformer/puzzler elements. This is in my top three for PSP. Buy it. FeedbackIf you think we've made a mistake or omitted details, please send us your feedback. |
