For me this rates third behind Tiger Woods 04 & 05. In saying this Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 is a damn sight more challenging than any of the others I have played in the series. Be ready for the weather to have a decent impact on your rounds. Rain; rain can make putting a nightmare as green speeds are so hard to judge which can lead to gnashing of teeth and your hair being torn out. Wind, oh joy – the wind can make life a living hell at times in this game – sure its designed to be more realistic, what gripes me is you seem to be the only golfer to struggle in adverse weather conditions, one minute you are six under and looking good, next thing you know the round is over and your score has hit +4. A few choice words could well be uttered but at least we might find out how rounds pan out for even the most seasoned professional. Suggestion – use the live weather system.
This the first golf title I have bought for Playstation 3. I am a
confirmed PC golf junkie. On the PC I use the real time mouse swing option and
I am successful ( mostly using Links 2003 my prefered golf sim.) and obtain
under par scores frequently on the most difficult setting.
The problem I find with this title and probably previous Tiger Woods titles on
Playstation, is that using a real time swing option the range of movement of the
swing lever (default left lever) is way too small to get decent control over
both the power and accuracy of the shot. Because of the small range of motion
even the smallest descrepancy in direction and power is amplified greatly.
I don't know, maybe for seasioned Tiger Woods Playstation afficianados this is
not a problem.
As for the rest of the game it does have some good points. Such as non static
galleries and foliage that moves in the wind. For a Playstation 3 games the
graphics are not that crach hot. Most other EA sports titles have alot more
realistic graphics.
Honestly because of the controller issues PS3 and I would also supect XBox
360 are not really suited to golf games. Although I have never tried Nintendo
Wii seems like a better bet for serious golf game junkies
