The Sims 3

FYI This isn't Robert, this is his better half writing this review! As a Sims franchise addict, I've generally stuck to the PC platform after the hideous previous attempts to push this onto the console. I got this game as I have a PS3 and had no games I wanted to play on it. So far, it has managed to suck a lot of my time. Even if you're a PS3 n00b like myself, the controls are quick and easy to master and the trophies are relatively easy to obtain if you're familiar with the PC platform versions.

The Karma aspect adds another dimension to this game which isn't available on the PC platform and the new Challenge Rewards to get new stuff for your Sims in addition to the standard Lifetime Rewards from the PC Platform.

So far, I'm finding this game really rewarding! Its hard now to choose between PC and PS3!

I got this game to break the monotony of shooters that have littered my PS3 collection, this game does just that.

Sims 3 lets you live your virtual existence on the PS3, create your Sim and mold their desires as you see fit. The game allows you to control how the sim looks physically and what they wear, how the sim acts and what their lifetime wishes are, for those old hand at Sim's you know what to expect.

You have the choice of creating multiple Sims in one household and deciding the relationship between each sim

The AI is robust enough for you to leave your Sims to their own devices and concentrate on one specific, this can quickly become a multi-tasking nightmare IF you let it.

For me Sims is just too easy… ONCE the controls have been mastered, which is great. I can easily jump into a new game and create a whole new sim with completely different goals. If you're a shooter fan skip this game it will bore you to tears.

There is online support but I haven't bothered with it, more personal preference than knowledge of what its like.

Sims 3 is a specialist genre for those poeple that like to play with a virtual life. The game really lets you control all the aspects of how you want to play, you are your Sims god, enjoy.

I have this on PC and I love it. I was excited about Sims 3 coming PS3, purely so I could relax my bed with my favourite PC game! If you want me to state my preference I would say the PC version is better but it is cool on the PS3 although it takes a while to get used to the controls. The game play is slightly different on the PS3, a little more generic but plays well. At first I wasn't impressed but now after a few hours I'm used to it and it's definately growing on me. With console specific extras like Karma Powers, it does add more to the game. Try it, it's something new for the PS3 and you will be pleasantly surprised.
