Description

After being promoted by Michael Corleone to Don of New York, players expand to new cities, as they build up their families through extorting businesses, monopolizing illegal crime rings and defeating new families in an effort to become the most powerful mob family in America. To help players manage their empire, The Godfather II introduces “The Don’s View” – an innovative strategy meta-game that allows players to oversee the entire world as they grow the family business. Using the Don’s View, players will be able to build, defend and expand their crime rings, while keeping an eye on the movements and plans of the rival families. Players will also learn to master the business of organized crime by building a family of Made Men, hiring crew, handing out orders, and promoting their best men up the ranks.

Set in a stunning open-world environment, The Godfather II expands on the popular gameplay mechanics of the first game and doubles down on the series’ signature BlackHand control scheme, which now features even more visceral hand-to-hand brutality at your fingertips, introducing a new combo system, pressure tactics and executions. In The Godfather II, players will fight alongside their hand-picked crew, who have their own skills and expertise. Each family member specializes in a specific field such as demolitions, arson, engineering, first-aid and more. As The Don you control the family, sending some of your men on missions while heading off into action with others. The combination of strategic organized crime gameplay and brutal BlackHand action sets The Godfather II apart from other open-world games.

"Pretty good Better than the last one"
This game starts off really good, but like the last one can get a little repetitive as you go on just taking racket after racket over. Still though a good game with some good executions and has improved over the previous game. One thing though i ordered mine online here and it came with the code for the special character although the code never worked, something to watch out for.

"Almost as Fun as GTA IV"
This game is so much fun to play. You play as a mobster and you just go aroung killing the other mob families and protecting your rackets you have to manage the ammount of guards on each racket and you can execute anyone in the game which is cool.. I reccommend this game to anyone who liked gta iv... 9/10.

"If you like GTA try this"
Ok so its not as big, it won't take you anywhere near as long to finish but its still a strong title. There have been improvements to the interactiveness, you can now use six axis motion sensitivity to throw your victims around (like the wii godfather game) which is good fun.

There is three cities to travel between, I found overtaking businesses even with 15 guards quite simple so its perhaps a little bit too easy and the tasks can be repetitive. The graphics are improved on the last one and driving a car is now simpler and more realistic.

"Falls a tad bit short "
The Godfather II places an interesting spin on the second film in the acclaimed series, adding emphasis on both strategy and action elements to give you a sense of what it's like to create and control your own empire. Multiplayer also puts a creative spin on using your henchmen to gain money and even items for your soldiers. However, players of action or strategy games of any variety will blow through this title thanks to the lack of difficulty in the single player campaign, and probably will only turn to the multiplayer once they've beaten the game, since they won't need to increase their henchmen's skills. It's still fun and has almost all of the elements of a great game, but until a harder difficulty level is added, The Godfather II falls a tad bit short.

"PS3 graphics + Wii style motion = great game"
Definately a must have, especially if you like GTA as the game is quite similar, the play style, with missions and favours for people walking around as well as businesses to take over. The graphics are really good.

I had played the wii version of the previous godfather game already and found that this one borrowed some of the active controls learnt by the makers in the wii version. There is the ability to grab the owner of the business you are extorting and throw them to the ground as well as being able to twist the controller to snap the necks of your victims, this definately adds to the gaming experience although six axis isn't quite as good as the wii motion sensitivity.

Theres also plenty of hours of gameplay and with online capabilities even more gameplay and the ability to earn trophies for certain tasks achieved within the game.
