Description

The Star Wars saga will continue in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a videogame developed by LucasArts, which casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.

As its name implies, The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force by taking full advantage of newly developed technologies that will be seen and experienced for the first time: Digital Molecular Matter (DMM), by Pixelux Entertainment, and euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd. Paired with the powerful Havok Physics™ system, these new technologies create gameplay only possible on the new generation of consoles. DMM incorporates the physical properties of anything in the environment so that everything reacts exactly like it should - wood breaks like wood, glass shatters like glass, plants on the planet Felucia bend like plants on the planet Felucia would, and more. Meanwhile, as a revolutionary behavioral-simulation engine, euphoria enables interactive characters to move, act and even think like actual human beings, adapting their behavior on the fly and resulting in a different payoff every single time.

Features:
  • During the period between Episodes III and IV, players hunt Jedi in the role of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice.
  • Unleash and upgrade the Secret Apprentice's four core Force powers - Force push, grip, repulse and lightning - throughout the course of the game, and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos.
  • Examples of unleashing the Force in ways never thought possible:
    • The Secret Apprentice won't just Force push enemies into walls - he'll Force push enemies through walls.
    • The Secret Apprentice won't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he'll Force grip them in midair, zap them with lightning, then drop them to the ground to explode like a bomb.
  • In addition to new adversaries created just for the game, such as fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, players will also confront and associate with familiar faces from the Star Wars films, including Darth Vader.

"Force powers? Count me in"
Dark Jedi? Devious Plot? Secret Apprentice? Outrageously Awesome Force Power? Damn! Count me in.

The Force Unleashed is a game that delivers on all that we'd ever want to ask for. From absolutely amazing force powers, a beautifully crafted universe, a pretty controversial tale that slid neatly into the gap between Episode 3 and 4 and Darth Vader!! Yes, you get to be him even if it's for a brief brief time.

You begin your tale as Darth Vader's secret apprentice, starting out with some impressive force abilities and unlocking more as you go through the story. Now, I just have to say it again, the force powers are awesome. If ever you dreamed of being a Jedi, this game just blows your dreams away. You'll just destroy, swarm after swarm of troops. Ahhh, it's a great feeling.

The game weaves a nice tale of betrayal, hope and downfall. It's pretty decent for a hack and slash type game and worthy of it's Star Wars title. One thing I didn't like about it was the kiss at the end, god it was horrible! xD

As you go through the game you'll encounter harder enemies with some able to block (yes block) your lightsaber and force powers. This. This is the only thing that really annoyed me. I mean okay, block the lightsaber but the force powers too?!!? Now that's just greedy. I don't recall those troopers being able to block force powers!! #@%$%#@$@$!!!! Other than that, the combat is still awesome.

You'll fight different enemies depending on what planets you are on and the enemies are varied and cool. There are tiny force puzzles that can barely be called puzzles and it would have been cool if they put more puzzles in, even if just for secrets. That reminds me, yes there are secrets to unlock. You'll find Jedi Holocrons scattered round levels which hold such awesome things as new costumes, lightsaber crystals and ones that change the properties of your lightsaber. These ultimately make exploring worthwhile. Also, did I mention... Black... Lightsaber... Crystal?

The ending I thought was a good end and depending on how you go about it, you'll either get the good or evil ending. Overall a good game, but things like force blocking stormtroopers kinda hamper the Star Wars experience.

"Brilliant"
A great game, unfortunately the physics didn't apply to every single game object as i'd hoped, but nevertheless it was an amazing and unique experience, i've finished the game once, with one of the 2 endings, i am now working toward completing it with the other ending. it was shorter than it could have been. it might have been better if it were a PS3 exclusive, but the amount of content in the game was restricted so that it could fit on dual-layer DVDs.

Overall, a very fun game that is definitely worth getting.

"very good"
Having played the demo, and not being a major Star Wars nut I was uncertain about this game. I replayed the demo and ordered the full version and boy did I do the right thing.

The game is awesome, throwing your favorite Star Wars characters around like puppets, utlising the various sides of the dark side has never been so much fun and everyone should play it!!!!!

"It's Fun Being Bad"
Great Game.
Awesome action game with a touch of RPG elements (change lightsber colours, costumes, upgade powers)

Very good graphics and physics.

Picking up people with the force, watching them try grab on to the nearest object, or their friend, never gets old.
Cool combos and force upgrades.
