Sony's PlayStation 3D monitor is a 24" active-shutter LED-backlit LCD that comes bundled with two pairs of 3D glasses (charged via USB). The monitor has two HDMI inputs, integrated speakers and subwoofer and quad speed frame sequential display technology.
The Playstation 3 console supports true stereoscopic 3D and a number of current and upcoming PS3 games support 3D.
In a split screen game two gamers can put on the stereoscopic 3D glasses, One gamer can see his side in full screen with the glasses while his buddy can see his side on the full screen while wearing the second pair of 3D glasses.
Playstation 3 3D Monitor is a fully 3D supported monitor that can also be a solid 24 inch flat screen TV. That's the perfect size for apartments, bedrooms and other locations.
The Playstation Monitor has 2 HDMI ports, a component video port, a speaker system with subwoofer and full 1080p resolution support.
This product cannot be shipped outside of New Zealand.
My HD-TV (1080p) before was awesome but this PlayStation TV's viewing quality is ROCKING! The 3D is great but just the standard viewing is top-notch and every HD game is much more better looking on this monitor in all aspects!
This TV is specifically made for HD gaming so obviously the best settings and tech was put into it and if you own one you know what I'm talking about!
Uncharted 3 was visually stunning on my last HD-TV but on the PlayStation TV if I stand on the roof… I feel as if I'm gonna actually fall for real!
Slim, Sleek, and Shiny!
People think that the “bigger the screen, the better” well I'm here to
tell you you're wrong!
The bigger the screen, the more of a stretch the resolution is.
Smaller TVs' and monitors (19-Inch) offer better resolution due to its pixels being smaller where as a bigger (32+inch) TV stretches its resolution because pixels can be any size the manufacturer wants. The 1920×1080 represents the width and height of a television. Saying that a Big TV is better than a smaller TV or monitor depends on the position of the screen. If you usually play in the living room on the big TV then of course you will want a bigger TV to fit in your living room. The Playstation Monitor is designed to be placed on a desk and not in the living room.
Personally, I have a LG 2340e 23inch monitor in my room which I use with my PC and PS3. It works really well as a gaming screen, up close and personal. I am hoping that the Playstation Monitor will emulate that very feeling in 3D.
2 People, 1 Screen- what's not to like. I HATE sharing my screen with my relatives when they rarely come over (maybe this wouldn't happen if I wasn't a yes man or if I got a bigger screen). A new feature lets two people play on the same screen and see two different images! Now they will NOT be able to activate 3D and this feature at the same time due to the max refresh rate of the screen which is 120hz. 3D requires a 120hz refresh rate for it to work. The split technology works bye letting one person see 60hz of the screen and the other see the other 60hz (3D glasses required) meaning that 3D is a NO GO while using this feature. I'm sure that in the future, Sony will have the initative to make a screen with 240hz a second for 2 separate 3D displays or 4 way Display with no 3D.
Overall, this product will be a TEST to see what consumers want and Sony will patch up all the lose ends in due time. This product looks promising but you must never judge a book by its cover. For that reason only, I won't rate it at this time.
No doubt this will clearly be another technological innovation from Sony, which I eagerly anticipate :)
WOW..... I own an Xbox 360 and mainly only prefer it over the PS3 for the controller (despite the terrible battery pack). But Sony just keeps on amazing me whilst Microsoft are focusing on Kinect..... With this I am a step closer to switching over to the other side. I never thought this sort of technology was actually possible but apparently it is. It will be brilliant and I know I want one!
Absolutly perfect! I do not game on anything bigger than a 24inch so that works out perfectly and with the splitscreen now fullscreen my mind has been blown. TV YOU WILL BE MINE!
