Description

Staying true to the eccentric Katamari universe and its unique gameplay, players in Katamari Forever will use the Prince’s Katamari to roll up everyday objects. The more objects the Prince rolls up, the larger his Katamari becomes, allowing him to roll up even bigger items. In Katamari Forever the Prince faces his toughest challenge yet with more weird and wonderful Katamari to roll up than ever before.

A terrible event has occurred causing the stars to disappear from the night sky and the King of All Cosmos to fall into a coma. The Prince must use his finely tuned Katamari rolling skills once more to re-create the absent celestial bodies, save his royal father and restore order to the Cosmos. Thumb tacks, sushi, cats, people, skyscrapers, ocean liners and continents - nothing is safe as the Prince makes his way through the largest variety of stages ever in a single Katamari game.

New graphical styles give Katamari Forever a certain “je ne sais quoi” that all new Katamari games possess. The Wood style uses warm sepia tones to give stages a wooden feel while Comic creates thick black outlines on every object, filled in with deep, rich colours. There are various styles to choose from, so make sure to try them all out and find your favourite for a totally new way to experience the world of Katamari.

In addition to all these great new features, Katamari Forever will also contain local cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes. Choose your favourite cousin and play together or take on friends and family in heated competition. Who will become the Katamari champion?

5 stars "Brilliant, Bizzare Game."

If you enjoy strange Japanese games this is for you. The storyline is completely outlandish and almost impossible to comprehend. The novel, unfamiliar gameplay is surprisingly appealing (you roll a ball around different locations trying to pick up inanimate objects and animals to make it bigger). Would recommend to anyone wanting a different gaming experience with a good sense of humor.

5 stars "More Katamari = more love"

Great fun. There's an extra spin on the standard game format with the introduction of the Roboking. You can roll up ‘memories’ for the King of the Cosmos (upgraded visuals on the levels from We <3 Katamari) or make planets for the Roboking who accidentally destroyed them all. Co-op play runs really slow for some reason but that's my only complaint.

5 stars "Great game for all ages"

Katamari games are great for any age (I am 26). Although there are new concepts in Katamari Forever you can tell many levels are ‘recycled’ from older Katamari. Nonetheless, the HD graphics are just amazing. The soundtrack is one of a kind also. I love everything about this game! I mean, when else do you get to ‘roll up’ sumo wrestlers and taiko drums?

4 stars "Creative, simple gameplay, hilarious dialogue"

This would be the most uncanny game that you'd come across. As you roll, your Katamari (ball), things smaller than it will stick to it. The goal is to make your ball as large as possible within the specified time limit. The things that can adhere to your ball are wonderfully creative from sushi slices, trees and (on more than one occasion) children and people.
Game play is simple enough, the two sticks control steering and definitely aimed at a younger audience.
The dialogue spoken is text based, supposedly due to the translation from Jap to Eng but still retains the humor.

Fantastic enjoyable game.
