Ferrari Challenge: Trofeo Pirelli looks good on paper and certainly through screenshots and videos but as soon as I put the disc in, I was disappointed.
As a racing simulator I would've expected a more realistic feel to the cars
but they feel heavy, cumbersome and almost boat-like. The controls are
adjustable along with countless features of the game such as ABS, traction
control etc…but overall it doesn't change too much.
The overall length of this game is great. There are literally over a hundred
races available over more than 20 tournaments ranging from Italy, USA and other
European nations.
The graphics are average and not as good as first seen on screenshots. The tracks and cars look great but everything else is weak. WRC Rally Evolved on PS2 has better off-track graphics when your on the dirt, grass or sand.
The game however has plenty of value in loads of unlockables from Challenge Cards to trophies.
I suggest, you get Race Driver: Grid instead for a proper touring/racing game, Burnout Paradise for speed and Midnight Club for underground/boy racing games as they top those categories.
As for simulation, wait for Gran Turismo 5. The Prologue is ten times better than this game and offers a more realistic experience.
5/10.
Graphics aren't up to the standard of GT5 Prologue but the sound effects are pretty good. I'm building a Ferrari P4 Replica and it's a great tool to practice what it will be like to drive with huge wheel arches in front of you. I've hooked up a Logitech G25 Racing Wheel with the gear stick on the right hand side to try and get use to changing gear with the wrong arm. The sound of the P4 alone is worth the purchase price.
There is no way to describe the feeling of racing a virtual Ferrari but ill put it in basic terms. ITS AWESOME!!
I havent unlocked all 50 cars but im going to go hard until I do.
Great for the 1 day mighty deal..thanks guys
But for me its not worth a full priced game
