5 stars "A deep and true fantasy RPG experience."

Having played the Baldurs gate back in 2001 and having seen what Bioware were capable of in terms of RPG's the expectation of this release coming to the PS3 was huge.

The main interface and menu's take time to get get used to. At first it is somewhat confusing but eventually you realise that Bioware have not drifted far from the system that served Baldurs gate so well.

The combat system does allow time to get ready for amubushes and tactics allow you to set up your inventory/spells and queue up actions.

There are side quests and loot galore, players can develop main attributes but also skills with traps, poison making, herbalism and so on. Additionally there are specialization traits like berserker and others.

Its rewarding to play, the depth is there and the RPG experience is very good indeed. A classicworthy of its predecessor? Almost…inches away and if you are an RPG fan of any sort and own a console you need to buy this!

Pros: Great gameplay, deep character development, heaps of loot and weapon upgrading, good combat/tactic system for non controlled party members.

Cons: Graphics not up to recent standards, console version has no ‘wide’ camera angle, DLC content shamelessly flaunted by EA, no in game loot storage.

4 stars "Fun, but bugs need to fixed"

this game is very fun and in depth, i love it, the only problem is the bugs that are constantly ruining the game, it's quite disappointing, but if those bugs were fixed, this would almost be the perfect game!

5 stars "awesome RPG"

Dragon Age: Origins is the spiritual successor to BioWare's critically acclaimed Baldur's Gate, featuring deep character customization and role-playing, morally challenging decisions, tactical party-based combat, and a wealth of gritty, mature sub-plots. It is a dark, heroic fantasy game that combines original storytelling techniques with classic role-playing challenges.

In Dragon Age, your choices change the world and affect the people around you. Certain situations, storylines, and conversation options will change drastically depending on your origin and your motivations. You choose your origin, and from that starting point, your story begins. You play through your character's early days, defining his or her background and motivation and begin to learn more about the world of Ferelden from your own distinct perspective. Your choice of origin defines how you will view the world and how it views you. Choose a sneaky, disrespected commoner and you will play a story that focuses around subtle skills and careful wordplay. Choose a noble origin and the world will be much more positive and helpful, but those jealous of your status will not be afraid to take what you have, violently if necessary.
