AC has come a long way from AC2 and even more so from the very first game.
Initially starting as a game with a good concept and story with incredible graphics but unfortunate repetitive game play – AC has evolved into a great game with a lot of depth and definately has a lot to offer to the different types of players.
1 – The Casual “Just want to have fun” Player – a standard sandbox environment allowing players to traverce the city of Rome freely (well once you have completed some plot), the play can run around assassinating freely, practicing jumping from rooftops to crates, etc. It also has a very good story line which develops with a reasonable pace. The player can just do nothing but plot and finish the game fairly quickly.
2 – The Horder “I like side quests & love collecting stuff” Player – the side quests have definately improved from AC 1 & 2, taking more shape of additional story line & generally adds to the overall gaming experience, (I am so sick of hearing the: “You are Thief, you are thief” line in the previous game). There are also quite a lot of collectables in terms of weapons and paintings. Also the usual Chests, Flags & Feathers (thank god there are now maps for these… For a price of course!)
3 – The Hardcore “I must get everything and have GOLD rankings and trophys!!” player – AC Brotherhood now has a “simulated” training feature which you access through the start menu. This contains various timed challanges from assassinating all the targets without being seen within a time period or going through checkpoints again within a certain time period. You are ranked Bronze, Silver & Gold depending on your times, (the instructions can be a little frustrating to get used to… ) The Story missions also are more specific, putting restriction on how you acheive you goal, (eg: must kill from hidden location as opposed to just shooting him with a knife/crossbow). Attention and memory have to come into effect as I have had to redo a few missions because I either didnt read the detail on how to achieve my goal, or I have simply forgotten.
Overall Great game in my opinion, I think im about 50% through Sync. Replayability is there as you can access the missions through the DNA sequence, redo them, improve on them etc.
Totally recommend this game and can not wait for AC Revalations!
Great game, even larger than the previous one. Great graphics and history to
be learnt. You may even learn a few Italian words on the way lol.
On the whole a good game and if you a fan then do get this one
I don't shop online a lot as I am quite skeptical about what and who I give personal information to… Mighty Ape proved to be efficient, trustworthy and communicative with this buy as well as my previous two purchases.
Brotherhood essentially plays like a huge expansion to the epic story of Assassin's Creed 2. The hero, Ezio is dropped into the huge and beautiful assassin's playground that is mid-renaissance Rome, along with new weapons and gadgets to further increase his deadly efficiency.
The game does a great job of answering several of the countless, often perplexing questions which were raised throughout the events of the first and second games. What is Abstergo- What is their link to the Templars and why are the assassins still struggling to evade them even to the current day-
Brotherhood also adds new strategic elements to the gameplay through the addition of Ezio's secret brotherhood of assassins, who can either be sent to complete contracts to gain rewards, or summoned into battle with a wolf whistle from Ezio.
The addition of an expansive and addictive online multiplayer mode tops off this addition to the series and makes it feel like less of an expansion, and more of a fully fledged sequel.
In conclusion, Brotherhood is definitely worth your hard earned cash, especially now that it's gone platinum! I highly recommend playing it now, before the next chapter in the series, Revelations hits shelves in late 2011.
I haven't played an Assassin's Creed game since the first due to finding it the most frustrating and annoying game I have ever played. However after numerous people telling me it's the best game ever, I gave in and decided to buy the latest Assassin's Creed game: Brotherhood. And I am happy to say the game is amazing, and heres why.
The combat in the game is flawless. You can disarm opponents, counter their attacks, block and so on. However once you have countered a move, you can chain together another kill staright away, making combat fluid and fun.
Free running is a cool mechanic that I liked about the first game, it allows you to scale huge towers, and run across Rome's rooftops effortlessly like a superhero. Which brings me to the setting, Rome. I am a huge fan of open world games and I absolutely love the setting they've chosen here. You can explore the huge city, do fun side missions and find collectables. The game is mainly set around the early 1500's, which also leads to an interesting story which I love. It's a mix of Sci-fi and non-fiction, and you meet a lot of interesting characters along the way (Macheaveli, Leonardo Da Vinci, yes you heard correctly).
This is all helped by a wonderfully innovative control scheme that may seem complicated at first, but you quickly get used to it and find out how easy and fun they are to use.
As you can tell I absolutely love this game and I recommend it to all.
