For the obviuosly maths-poor people below…
This card give two months play-time for $NZD50. As of writing the dollar is worth $US0.53c so a one month subscription is over $NZD28/month and a three month sub is about $NZD26/month and a six month sub is about $NZD24/month.
Based on that it is worthwile getting the gamecard since it will save you money at this point in time. If the dollar heads back up to the 60c US mark then it stops being worthwhile again.

This card is a good idea. My only issue with the game card (and the monthly subs) is that it would be good if you could “bank”the time you get from the card.
By this i mean, whenever you log into your account the amount of time left on the card decreases and stops when you log out. It's a shame this can't be done cos either way you pay for the gaming experience whether or not you are logged on.
I'd prefer to pay when i'm actually playing as you are losing (in terms of the $ and to a lesser extent – time) when your not, especially say for example you are away for “X” amount of days.
So if we look at it – for $1.40NZD per day (based on 31 days / $22.00 for a monthly credit card payment). It may not seem like much but if you were to calculate each day you didn't play by the cost (ie: 10 days in the month not spent playing = $14.00 you are charged for).
Stack this up per annum and it all adds up. I hate to bang on about the cost but i strongly feel that we should all be given the best value for the money where putiing up.
Food for thought.
It's worth paying for because, due to the current exchange rates, via credit card you will be paying $29.40 (roughly) for the game. Times that by two and you will be paying a lot more than the price of this card.
Exchange rates suck and I hate paying for game time I'm not using, I also hate having to pay twice as much as what the US pay. But that's just the way it is, and it's not going to change for two countries (Australia experience the same problem too).
This card seems to cost more than if you used a credit card to purchase game time. A monthly subscription is around 22 NZ dollars.
Having said that this card has three advantages. You don't need to worry about exchange rates, you can give the cards as gifts and perhaps the most important thing is not having to worry about paying interest on your credit card.
An easy way to purchase game time if you don't have a credit card to use, like me.
