First the cons:
- If you have a pc that just meets the requirements, you will definitely need
to upgrade before you can play this game. You will need to have either a
powerful sound card, a newer quad core or triple core CPU. The GPU definitely
needs to be newer than 8600GT.
- Some of the gameplay features can only be unlocked by playing online with
horrible lag.
- produced by EA games so you can forget about customer support.
Pros:
- Awesome gameplay. I never get tired of execution styles. :-)
- The dons view is a great feature where you can, for e.g, send the more
capable members of your crew to attack one target while you go and single
handedly wipe out another (one of the perks of being a don).
- There is usually more than 1 way to accomplish any object, hit or takeover.
Depending on my mood I sometimes go with the quick and silent takedown (took
over a business without killing a single person) or a brute force “killem
all” style.
- Great graphics and sound – if you have the system to support it.
I have an AMD 3700+, 2GB RAM, 2×8600gt 512MB SLI and SB Audigy 2. All with
latest firmware and drivers. Have to run it at 1024X768 with graphics mode set
to low.
My friend has a AMD Phenom, 4GB RAM, 2×9800GT SLI and onboard Azalia soundcard.
Runs fine at high resolutions with graphics mode set to high.
NOTE:
From EA rep in GF2 forum: “Godfather 2 is designed to work off a single core,
under 32-bit architecture. Multiple cores will not, unfortunately, increase the
effective speed of your processor.”
So your processor needs to be minimum 2.8Ghz for each core.
Overall:
Excellent game, very fun and immersive but with very poor support from EA.
