I found this game really good at the start, the game play is amazing but as I got further into the game the levels started to get a bit boring. It's still a good game to go back and play when ever I get bored.
Finding yourself jumping across buildings, across narrow beams and escaping gunfire is what this game is about. Your name is Faith and you are a Runner. Moving information about in the best way possible… running full tilt across skyscrapers!
The game is pretty intense, you need quick thinking and an ability to
remember which key does what.
Most of the time you will find yourself either figuring out big puzzles slowly
(and dying a lot), or figuring out a lot of minor puzzles VERY quickly (and
dying a lot).
Graphics are good the Physics engine takes a bit to run (crashed my game EVERYTIME I used it) so if you are running an alright PC turn it off (in game menu) or you won't be able to play the game. Everything else is great.
I didn't give this game five stars because all games have minor flaws, and some things like – being a little repetitive and sometimes missing grasp points for no apparent reason, gets a little annoying.
Overall a good game worth playing.
The acrobatic style of this game is really awesome (though perhaps a little repetitive), jumping from and to objects and buildings at great speeds with a nice storyline to explain your crazy antics.
I think a good computer is a must with this game, so you can have the graphics turned up to full and enjoy the city the way it should be – the scenery amazing in this game, so take the chance to enjoy it.
This is a cool game, with first person action perspective. It takes you into a futuristic fringe world of parkour, and that sort of escapism is always good. I'm used to point and click adventure, so I find lots of keyboard controls quite hard to get used to.
This is a brilliant game. Fantastic graphics and fast paced action. Incredibly exciting in the 1st person. All looks amazing and sounds great as well. A fantastic game. Great value for money. you must get a copy.
Very cool game, love the emphasis on running rather than combat, makes for a
totally different feel to the whole game.
Ran this on my laptop which handled it pretty well considering, but noticed
sometimes it would be a little laggy (obviously laptop gpu's don't quite cut
it). Sounds are nice, but overall pretty unimportant in this game. Industrail
landscapes are made with minimalist colours so that you can focus on the bright
red indications for where to go, but didn't detract from the fact the graphics
are great. The in-game story is also pretty solid and makes each “chapter”
more compelling, as it gets somewhat harder. One thing that is bugging me is
that too often jumping from one ledge to another can be hit and miss, so as my
summary says – try, try again. If this hadn't frustrated me quite as much,
I would have given it a 5 star rating.
Probably not worth the full price of $70, but a great twist on your typical
First-person viewed games, in a similar way that Portal was.
I've always wanted to try out Mirror's Edge, after seeing it in one of the daily deals I decided to grab it. Very interesting single player parkour, I would definitely play the sequel when it comes out.
The gameplay is wickid, but the minimal 10 hours of gameplay is a letdown, however it has replay value.
First person hand-to-hand combat is quite cool, but can be trying at times.
Buy it if you like action packed, fast paced, in your face gaming, dont buy it if you like long games.
Become Faith, a Runner in a clean city which houses some very unclean secrets. Live on the edge, feel the freedom, but it's a long way to fall.
The game has a wonderful clean feeling about it, simplistic colours coding for various concepts throughout the game, and some of the moves you have to pull to get through are incredible; jumped from one skyscraping crane to another lately?
Still a few glitches in it though, there are points where Faith, able to leap from rooftop to rooftop, comes to a complete halt because she's stubbing her toe on a crate. On my computer the background noise was permanently too high, often drowning out the dialogue, and there's no way to reduce it specifically.
Very replayable, you'll end up trying to beat players from around the world, studying their moves, slicing seconds off your best time.
Very good game, pushes and leaps over boundaries.
I love mirror's edge, its a new take from the tomb raider puzzle style, but a great one at that.
You are basically a character who is a messenger trying to get from one place to another, you have obstacles in the way and you must find ways around or over them to proceed in the game.
With fresh, vibrant and crisp colours in HD glory – the scenes are a
pleasure to view as you jump, slide and swing around the city. I used my Xbox
360 controller to play and found it a breeze with the controls.
(You are taught the moves first off, but they are also easy to pick up)
Overall though, I thought it was a great game filled with a new approach to get from point A to B, with very realistic character models, great shading and interesting methods of disarming people and avoiding dangers…(especially in the scene's when your thankful for checkpoints!).
If your more of a pacifist but occasionally like kill the odd police officer. This is the game to do it, with long levels ranging between skill and stealth or just shoot em' up game. The only con is that the game is to short, you will probably finish in 5 hrs maybe more maybe less. But It's still a good game. 4**** stars
