Description

In a city where information is heavily monitored, agile couriers called Runners transport sensitive data away from prying eyes. In this seemingly utopian paradise, a crime has been committed, your sister has been framed and now you are being hunted.

You are a Runner called Faith - and this innovative first-person action-adventure is your story. Mirror’s Edge delivers you straight into the shoes of this unique heroine as she traverses the vertigo-inducing cityscape, engaging in intense combat and fast paced chases. With a never before seen sense of movement and perspective, you will be drawn into Faith’s world. A world that is visceral, immediate, and very dangerous. Live or die? Soar or plummet? One thing is certain, in this city you will learn how to run.

Features:
  • Move yourself: String together an amazing arsenal of wall-runs, leaps, vaults and more, in fluid, acrobatic movements that turns every level of the urban environment to your advantage and salvation.
  • Immerse yourself: In first person every breath, every collision, every impact is acutely felt. Heights create real vertigo, movements flow naturally, collisions and bullet impacts create genuine fear and adrenaline.
  • Challenge yourself: Fight or flight. Your speed and agility allow you not only to evade, capture and perform daring escapes, but also to disable and disarm unwary opponents, in a mix of chase, puzzles, strategy and intense combat.
  • Free Yourself: Runner vision allows you to see the city as they do. See the flow. Rooftops become pathways and conduits, opportunities and escape routes. The flow is what keeps you running - what keeps you alive.

"Enjoyed Start to End"
Finding yourself jumping across buildings, across narrow beams and escaping gunfire is what this game is about. Your name is Faith and you are a Runner. Moving information about in the best way possible... running full tilt across skyscrapers!

The game is pretty intense, you need quick thinking and an ability to remember which key does what.
Most of the time you will find yourself either figuring out big puzzles slowly (and dying a lot), or figuring out a lot of minor puzzles VERY quickly (and dying a lot).

Graphics are good the Physics engine takes a bit to run (crashed my game EVERYTIME I used it) so if you are running an alright PC turn it off (in game menu) or you won't be able to play the game. Everything else is great.

I didn't give this game five stars because all games have minor flaws, and some things like - being a little repetitive and sometimes missing grasp points for no apparent reason, gets a little annoying.

Overall a good game worth playing.

"Harder than I thought it would be"
This is a cool game, with first person action perspective. It takes you into a futuristic fringe world of parkour, and that sort of escapism is always good. I'm used to point and click adventure, so I find lots of keyboard controls quite hard to get used to.

"Incredibly Exhilarating "
This is a brilliant game. Fantastic graphics and fast paced action. Incredibly exciting in the 1st person. All looks amazing and sounds great as well. A fantastic game. Great value for money. you must get a copy.

"Try, try again"
Very cool game, love the emphasis on running rather than combat, makes for a totally different feel to the whole game.
Ran this on my laptop which handled it pretty well considering, but noticed sometimes it would be a little laggy (obviously laptop gpu's don't quite cut it). Sounds are nice, but overall pretty unimportant in this game. Industrail landscapes are made with minimalist colours so that you can focus on the bright red indications for where to go, but didn't detract from the fact the graphics are great. The in-game story is also pretty solid and makes each "chapter" more compelling, as it gets somewhat harder. One thing that is bugging me is that too often jumping from one ledge to another can be hit and miss, so as my summary says - try, try again. If this hadn't frustrated me quite as much, I would have given it a 5 star rating.
Probably not worth the full price of $70, but a great twist on your typical First-person viewed games, in a similar way that Portal was.

"Very interesting single player."
I've always wanted to try out Mirror's Edge, after seeing it in one of the daily deals I decided to grab it. Very interesting single player parkour, I would definitely play the sequel when it comes out.
