Description
Ghostbusters: The Video Game, based on the smash hit motion picture franchise and featuring a completely new story, is coming to six game systems in 2009. Coinciding with the 25th anniversary celebration of the film’s original theatrical release, the game reunites original cast members to recapture the unique blend of humour and fright that established Ghostbusters as a pop culture sensation.
Penned by original Ghostbusters writers Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd, Ghostbusters: The Video Game brings members of the original cast together for the first time in 20 years. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson lend their voices and in-game likenesses to the original story set two years after Ghostbusters II, with Manhattan once again overrun by ghosts and supernatural forces. Players will have the chance to chase, attack, and catch ghosts in a funny and frightening battle to save New York from its latest supernatural plague. Features:

"Looks great on the box"
I have been asked to write a review but I haven't played the game yet.
My computer is a bit old and way below the min specs for this game so I wont get to play it till I upgrade. I bought it because of the price, which was about $18, which I figured was never going to be cheaper even in a Thats Hot box set so I bought it. Loved the movies so I expect to enjoy this too.
"Who ya gonna call? Great game great price"
I thought I was going to get a rejig of an old game but this is not the case. Great graphics and soundtrack and the gameplay is easy to get to grips with. Loads of fun
"More for fans of the films"
It's basically like a 3rd person shooter, but you have to trap some ghosts rather than simply shooting them. 'Wrangling' the ghosts can become very difficult, especially when you have 3 other team mates wrangling the same one. Your team mates aren't especially effective and on some levels you spend more time reviving them than trapping ghosts.
Cons: Writing is not as funny as I expected Controls are very annoying - shooting the ghosts is easy, but trapping them is almost impossible Pros: Graphics and sounds are good. Facial expressions match the actors well Story is quite well written Some genuine scares Overall this is an ok 10 hour game, but more for fans of the movies.
"Fun game, be part of the Ghostbusters gang and get them ghosts."
Fun game, destory the Marshmellow Man Stay Puft and chase after Slimer. what more can you want from the classic films.
"Fun and Addictive"
This game is meant to be the third "movie" in the franchise and is a very good sequel. It feels very much like the original movie and when does blasting ghost with ur proton pack ever get old? The gameplay is fun and addictive, there's a whole bunch of stuff to destroy and some really cool ghosts to scan.
Unfortunately the story lets it down because it wasn't very engaging and the romance was forced. Still a very fun and addictive game. 8.6/10 FeedbackIf you think we've made a mistake or omitted details, please send us your feedback. |
