"Great Quantity, Bad Quality."

I'm just going to review the ‘Collector's Edition’ items now.

When you get your collector's box. Open it up first thing I saw was the Security Token which is really useful!

Then there was the Map of Eorzea (World of FFXIV) in this cloth material which feels really soft. It's pretty medium in size.

Then there was the FFXIV Tumbler. You can't really use that for anything. I some part of the box the tumbler was in and it said. “Do not fill the product with the following materials as they may cause damage: Items including salt and solid materials, carbonated beverages, milk or other dairy beverages, fruit juices, etc.” Which basically means, you can't use it for your drinks. Which is sad. ><

The Traveller's Journal is nice, beautiful, but I won't write in it because it'll just look ugly later on :P

Also get a Guest Pass for 30 Days!! That is really cool! :D

I haven't really seen the “Behind The Scenes DVD” properly, because it's just not interesting to watch. (My opinion). It's like an Hour long.

Here comes the in-game item! The onion helm! This is actually useful if you go for challenges and then die. :P Your weakness (status you get after you die and then revive which causes you to be really weak) The weakness is reduced to about 1 min 30 seconds from 3 minutes I think. :) I could use the helm for showing everybody I own the Collector's Edition of FFXIV as well. ^_^

Now to the game.

The Bad:

Payment, really stressing – It uses a Third Party payment method which is ClickAndBuy. We also have to pay in EURO's. A month with one character = 12.99 Euros which is around $25NZD. Real expensive. Unless we pay in USD. D: Registering at ClickAndBuy is kind of a hassle as well.

Storyline/Quests are stink as well. It gives you no hint to when you continue or how you continue it. (e.g. Get to lvl 10 then talk to this npc.)

Updating the game really stinks as well! Your upload speed is uncapped and so you'll be wasting like a lot of bandwidth.

Marketing system is also bad! You have to go through everyone's shop just to find something you need. ._. They need an auction house now! :P

The Good:

Graphics! Above Amazing! Can't explain! :P Soundtrack/Music! LOVE IT <3 Just amazing! Love Nobuo Uematsu's songs.

The battle system is innovative :) There is no PvP(as of now) they are going to add NM(Bosses) So more people can party up as well. :) Can change class wherever whenever, just need the weapon. It's cool how you have to keep spamming 1 or 2 or something instead of Right Click and just waiting. :P

Installing is simple. Put in DVD and from there it's simple! Gives clear instructions. :)

Translation System! Really good and useful. Since this game, there are 4 languages. French, Japanese, English and German.

Future Improvements:

They are going to adjust the Markets, Chat, Interface & more in mid november 2010. Which will enhance the game even further. :)

All of the above are my opinions! Remember that! :D In my opinion this game is good! But I would recommend not getting it now as they still need TONS of improvements.

If I missed anything in my review… Well.. I'm sorry… I've been writing this for 30 minutes now and I can't think now. :P

Good Luck! Hope to see you buy this in the future~ ^^

"Absolutely Terrible - Avoid this game"

Keep away from this. While it's interesting for the first 30 minutes as its something new, you soon learn that they have learnt nothing from the last 10 years of MMO's.

This game has a shocking, clunky, laggy ui – that really has had no thought out into it. Quests are boring, and underwelming, servers are laggy, and any areas outside the 3 main citys are barren and desolate.

This is one of those games that literally takes hours to do anything in, and I swear, my eyes bled continuosly for the week I tried to actually get into it. Check out the reviews around the net, and you'll see similar comments.

Pros:

  • Nice looking graphics

Cons:

  • Everything else about this game.

TLDR: Wait for WoW Cataclysm, or jump onto one of the more user friendly MMO's (LOTRO or AOC)

"Great MMORPG but has some flaws"

Lots of fun to play, the system is deep and takes a bit of getting used to. The game in itself is not v.stable and the servers are pretty laggy (personal experience), but just like all MMORPGs they tend to be a bit bumpy in the early stages. With all that being said, its a great game.
