Most pc ports of console games I've played in the past usually prove annoying and problematic. However it seems they did quite well porting this to PC even especially the keyboard and mouse options. If you like the Fable series but don't have an Xbox 360, I'm sure you will enjoy this version. Also noted many of the previous bugs from the xbox 360 version have been fixed. Wish they could have corrected the teleport bug where it frequently teleports you miles away from the actual quest point. Otherwise all good.
Fable 3 is agood solid RPG with a good sense of humour. The British voice cast are well used with classic funnymen like John Cleese, Jonathan Ross, and Simon Pegg given lots to do. The game play is just what you'd expect; an engaging story line with plenty of side missions to keep you interesed. Fighting involves spells melee and missle weapons, and if you've played any game like this before, you'll get the hang of it quickly. I like the fact that dying doesn't send you back to redo thw mission, instead takes away the “reward”s you've been building up, and gives you scars. Its a bit like Grand theft Auto, without the cars, and much, much shorter. Multiple weapons to pick up, you have get married, buy houses, change clothes, get tattoos. All that stuff. There are a few bugs(I found myself trapped in a corner once or twice) but on the whole I really enjoyed the wit and fun gameplay.
Fable III has a very good single player campaign but then falls down at the
final battle. It has great treasury functions but is limited to amount that can
be transferred.
Overall a great game (especially some of the live features), there are some very
fun missions if you enjoy killing all enemy that cross you path. There are some
great upgrades for weapons, if you find the need to (But there is no need to for
the story line, as you upgrade most weapons and spells on the road
to rule).
As a very big fan of fable 1 I was disappointed when fable 2 was not released on PC. I did however borrow an xbox360 to play it, although didn't think it was equal to fable1(tlc) I still enjoyed it. However when I started playing through fable3 I really did not enjoy it. The combat system is awful when combined with the leveling system, the viewable map is useless, actually having no map would be better. I don't understand why they removed the health bar and opted for fps health system, noticing your health is low when you are in a battle is very hard as the only indication is that the screen gets an very dull red shade around it which is unnoticible when there is any fire spells happening. I kept trying to like the game as I am such a fan of the fable series but I just kept getting annoyed at the game. Everything in the game feels less… Everything. In fable 2 when your dog dies its quite sad, however in fable3 your dog is nothing more than an anoyance. Its completely useless in battles and the only other thing that it does is sniff out treasure dig spots… Wow they are useless, one word of advice, if you ever play this game save your time and never use dig spots. Most of the time they are a rubbishy 50 gold, not worth the time trying to follow the dog as it barks and glitches along through the game. Best thing I have found was 500 gold, once, why the programmers even bothered with this feature I have no idea. Even the plot itself is less iteresting. I mainly play games for their story, this one is borring. One final thought, in fable 1 and 2 the main character never speaks which adds to his mystique, in fable 3 the main character labs away all the time, never sounding like the hero he is apparently meant to be. Overall poor effort when compared to the previous titles, if you liked the previous 2 games, this game is worth playing if just to see the evolution of Albion. Finding the play offline button is almost impossible and I had considered finding a crack to do this before I found the legitimate way of not having to permanently bind the game to a windows live gaming account.
well i got the game and installed it after alot of bs drama with the stupid microsoft shit and having to link it to a xbox live account then played it for 10 mins then saved and closed my game had tea then when to start the game again and when ever it trys to load the save file the game stops responding i liked the 10 mins i played but cant comment on the rest of the game
